Finding the Perfect Christmas Tree in the Villages of Mt Hood

Looking for the perfect Christmas Tree? There are dozens of locations to find your Christmas Tree this year in East Clackamas County which is one of the top Christmas Tree growing areas in the country. As you drive along Highway 26 or any of the scenic backroads you will discover Christmas Tree lots just around every bend and over every hill. We have selected a few that are easy to access and right along the way to your Holiday Destination in a Mt Hood Vacation Rental.
Sandy Fire Department:
Driving east on Highway 26 from Sandy, Oregon to Welches, Oregon, a good Christmas Tree lot for picking up a tree is at the Sandy Fire Department on the corner of Bruns and Pioneer. The Fire Department is about 1/2 way through town after you are driving on the one-way. All sales benefit the Teen Explorer unit. Open daily, 3 – 7 PM. Trees are pre-cut and cost $20-25. 503-668-8093
Porter’s Nursery, 3.9 miles:
If you would like to get a live tree that can be planted in your yard after the Holidays, continue east on Highway 26 for 3.9 miles. You will find Porter’s Nursery on the north side of the road. Porter’s is a family run working nursery that specializes in evergreen trees. The Porter family lives on site with gorgeous views of Mt Hood. They sell Austrian Pines, Cypress, Blue Spruce as well as several other species. Trees are 4 feet tall and above and sell for $25-45. Hours: Open most days, you will know if the gate is open. 503-668-8441.Harrison’s Christmas Tree Farm, 5.4 miles:
Continue 1.5 miles past Porters to visit the Harrison Family who have been operating their Christmas Tree Farm for over 30 years. Located on the north side of the road, his multi-generational enterprise specializes in Noble Firs. They will cut them for you or you can cut your own. The Harrisons also sell wreaths and other holiday decorations and items. Open daily 9 AM – dusk through December 23. 503-668-9769.

Welches Mountain Building Supply, 15.8 miles:
If you want to wait until you get to the Villages of Mt Hood to purchase your tree, the Welches Mountain Building Supply has a beautiful selection of Grand, Douglas and Noble Firs between 4 feet and 8 feet tall. Prices range from about $15-40. They will have trees available through December 24. Located 7.4 miles of Alder Creek Farms in Welches at the corner of Arrah Wanna Blvd and Highway 26 on the south side of the road. Open Monday – Saturday, 8 AM – 6 PM, Sunday, 9 AM – 5 PM, Christmas Eve, 8 AM – 3 PM. 503-622-3000.
