MT HOOD SUMMER SKI CAMP

Mt Hood Summer Ski Camp has been operating ski & snowboard camps for over 40 years up on beautiful Palmer Glacier. Join an all-star coaching staff for the ultimate camp experience both on and off the mountain.

On-Snow Training:

They are the only camp on Mt Hood that offers on-snow training in ski racing (GS and Slalom), moguls, freeskiing, and snowboard freeride/terrain park.

Off-Snow Activities:

After a morning on the slopes, campers can choose from a wide variety of fun outdoor activities including cliff jumping, frisbee golf, hiking, mountain biking, rock-climbing, paintball, soccer, tennis, trampoline, white water rafting, and more! Where else can you hit the slopes and the rapids in the same day?

Who can attend the ski camp?

Their weeklong camps are for participants ages 9 to adult with an intermediate skill level to expert.

When are the camps?

Summer camps are held in June, July and August.

MHSSC provides everything during your stay, including pick-up and drop-off at Portland International Airport. The camp site is located at the Aubrey Watzek Lodge (also known as the Boy Scouts Lodge). Mt Hood Apple Picking Spots on Hood River Fruit Loop – Take Your Pick!

Apple picking season is here! Enjoy this family-friendly pastime while you breathe in some fresh fall air, meander through stunning orchards, and fill your bucket up to the brim with ripe fruit.

Kiyokawa Family Orchards

This popular apple picking spot is a family-run farm that has been harvesting since 1911! The valley’s largest U-Pick orchard grows over 150 different types of apples, pears, stone fruit and cherries. Make sure to stop by their fruit stand to grab some seasonal fruit, a jar of local honey or jam, and fresh apple cider to enjoy back at your cozy Mt Hood Vacation Rental.

Mt View Orchards

This orchard has something for everyone. Enjoy a fun-filled day of picking fruit, shopping at the farm stand, picking flowers, letting the kiddos play, searching for the perfect pumpkin, tasting wine from Grateful Vineyard or cider from Golder Row, and having a picnic with views of Mt Hood in the distance. Leashed pups are welcome, too!

The seasonal pumpkin patch is now open for fall fun! Enjoy cider donuts every Saturday and Sunday till they sell out! Kids of all ages will also love a hay ride through the orchard every Saturday in October.

Mt. Hood Organic Farms

Mt. Hood Organic Farms was the first organic farm in the valley. Enjoy some of the best honeycrisp apples and pears in the valley, while soaking in the magnificent views of Mt. Hood, Rainier, and Adams in the background.

Draper Girls’ Country Farm

A popular and scenic stop on the Hood River Fruit Loop, enjoy picking apples, pears, plums, peaches, apricots, and seasonal berries. Draper Girls’ also makes award-winning hard cider, via their Draper Girls Cider Company, and has a charming farm store.

Disc Golf in Mt. Hood, OR

Enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Hood and the surrounding area as you play your way down the mountain at Mt. Hood Adventure Park. Designed by local Troy Fischer, the 18-hole West Side and 9-hole East Side Disc Golf course will take you on an adventure through forests and mountain meadows.

Participants will begin by taking a ride up the lower Scenic Sky Chair to a mid-mountain elevation over 4,000 feet. From there, the adventure down the mountain begins with long-distance fairways, and a course suitable for all levels of experience.

Discs and course maps are available at the ticket booth.

Disc Rentals: $ 18 per disc, with a $ 13 credit upon disc return.

Make a day of it at Mt. Hood Adventure Park. The Park offers several different types of day passes that provide access to numerous outdoor attractions.

What is Disc Golf?

Disc golf, occasionally known as Frisbee Golf, is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc into a series of metal baskets situated on an outdoor course, the object being to complete the course using the fewest possible throws. It is played using rules similar to golf.

Interesting Fact

Disc golf discs are designed specifically for only throwing and not catching, and typically have a thinner profile and a sharper outer edge to increase aerodynamics and distance.
