A stay with Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals by Meredith Lodging will put you within easy access to miles of hiking and biking trails, glacial lakes, endless outdoor activities, and fun for the whole family!

Ready to book a summer vacation filled with adventure and wonder? Check out our list of where to hit the mountain, trails, and lakes this summer on Mt. Hood:

Visit Little Zigzag Falls

This easy going 1-mile round trip hike leads you along Little Zigzag River and ends at the falls – the perfect spot to snap that summer family pic! The entrance to the trailhead is located near Government Camp, and is just 6 miles away from Trillium Lake, giving you the perfect opportunity to visit Little Zigzag before spending the day at the lake.

Hike Mirror Lake Loop

This popular hike is roughly 4 miles out and back. It is classified as easy, but there are a few steep switchbacks on the way up, but your effort will be rewarded with stunning views of Mt. Hood reflecting in the glacial water. If you are looking for more of a challenge, once you get to the lake follow signs for Tom, Dick and Harry Mountain. Pups on a leash can join in on the fun, too!

Canoe, Kayak or Stand-up Paddle Board at Trillium Lake

Trillium Lake provides one of the most scenic views of Mt Hood. Soak in the crystal-clear reflections of Mt. Hood on the lake’s surface as you glide through the water. There is no motorized boarding, making Trillium the perfect place to dip your paddle this summer! The friendly and knowledgeable crew at Mt. Hood Outfitters can get your geared out for a memorable day out on the lake.

Play the Day Away at Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl

For the ultimate outdoor experience, head to Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl.  The whole family can enjoy everything from miles of mountain biking trails to a bungee tower and zipline, a rock wall, Indy Karts, a Super Kids’ Play Zone, and their infamous ½ mile Alpine Slide.

Go Skiing at Timberline – One of America’s Only Year-Round Ski Resorts

Timberline offers year-round skiing at The Palmer Snowfield. Most of the snowfield is reserved for summer campers and professional athletes; however, there is still plenty of space for vacationers eager to ski in the summer. We do recommend getting there early, as the lift typically closes by 2pm depending on the weather and snow conditions.
