A stream runs through it. And another wraps around it at Storybrooks Cabin in Rhododendron. Kitchen Creek flows merrily below your feet as you drink your morning coffee at the breakfast table or sip a glass of wine in the afternoon on the front or back deck. Inside are traditional Steiner Cabin details like the carved staircase banister, chinked log walls and the classic river rock fireplace perfect for a cozy family retreat or romantic getaway.

You begin your visit to Storybrooks Cabin crossing the footbridge over Hackett Creek. We have provided a little red wagon for you to carry your things to the cabin. The front door invites you into the kitchen with the original antique wood cook stove plus modern appliances. Gather in the living room with lots of sunny view windows and the river rock fireplace with a new woodstove insert. Head out the back door to relax listening to birdsong next to the creek as you bask in rays on the sunny side of the mountains. You can grill dinner on the gas BBQ on the back deck.

The first bedroom downstairs includes a queen bed and bunk beds for one family. The full bathroom is next door with a walk-in shower and a stacked full-size washer and dryer. Head upstairs for 2 more bedrooms for a second family. The main bedroom includes a queen bed and the 2nd upstairs bedroom is perfect for the kids with two twin beds.

Storybrooks Cabin has easy, year-round access to hiking, biking, skiing and restaurants throughout the Villages of Mt Hood. You will be just a couple of miles to the famous Sandy Ridge Mountain Bike Trails and the Barlow Wayside hiking trails. Your mature dog is welcome to join you at Storybrooks Cabin.

The cabin had such charm and was a perfect place to spend some quality time with our family over the holidays. It was a great launching spot for outdoor adventures and a cozy home to come back to!

Loved our stay! Perfect in every way! We didn’t miss the washer and dryer, which was out for repair. Lights out in back weren’t working. Some pans were very old. But we had a great stay!

The Creek!!!!

Absolutely one of the best outdoor relaxing experiences with a VRBO. Truly, the creek running in the back, all the way under, and continuing down the property is outstanding. We had morning coffee on the back deck and our dinners on the front. Loved the outdoor lights that created a great setting for my husband to strum his guitar. The cabin is rustic, but that is what we like. It is much darker on the inside than the pictures capture. The stairs to the upper bedroom are definitely steep and probably not recommended for little ones. However, the downstairs bedroom is next to the bathroom and we had our best nights sleep while staying there! It is a must to open the window and feel the coolness of the night and let the creek lull you to sleep. We brought most of all our meals and enjoyed the propane BBQ. Thankful this place is pet friendly and our fur child gave up drinking from a bowl and enjoyed only from the creek. There are great trails to enjoy- recommend the salmon river trail in Welches. We are new to exploring the MT. Hood area and can’t wait to come back. Next time , will book for a week! Thank you for a great location!

The cabin was beautiful as expected. The kitchen was very well appointed! I'm a cook so I brought a lot of things I thought I needed, but everything was there except the food. Only thing to detract from perfect was the low water pressure in the shower, but completely understandable considering it's an old cabin. Thank you for the opportunity to stay! We enjoyed ourselves.

The dishwasher was not unloaded when we arrived. The wall heat pump makes a lot of noise, and may need maintenance. It would be nice to have instructions on working the TV. Otherwise it is a beautiful cabin. We would have liked to know the history of the cabin and if it was a Steiner with add ons or just Steiner features.

This is a lovely Steiner cabin that’s been remodeled, but the bulk of the Steiner details remain. The location was perfect, the kitchen was well stocked. Plus, the stream runs under the house!!! I would stay here again.

Bed is decently comfortable (I have back issues but did okay/fine) The exterior was lovely, with lots of fall colors, the streams you see from the front/back, the lights they set up and the pretty babbling of the creek (which helps drown out the sounds of the road which is fairly close) Everything is clean/decently comfortable, works..we made a fire several times, watched films at night. The kitchen could use some better pots/pans, but then again, people tend to abuse/damage them quickly (if they're nonstick) maybe a little update on cutting boards These places cost a lot if you're a small party. I only wish we could have rented something smaller that would have better fit our budget, as there was only 2 of us. But we got the streams and leaves and historic cabin with the antique stove and all those old cabin-ey touches

Really pretty cabin nestled in the woods with amazing creek sound while resting upstairs or hanging in the kitchen. Stairs are fairly steep getting upstairs so if you have mobility concerns, this may be a negative. We had issues with water pressure but the rental agency was responsive and attempted to get it fixed and when they couldn't, we received a partial refund which was appreciated. It could maybe use some extra cleaning around the outside of the home/ outdoor seating. All in all, definitely recommend the cabin and beautiful property.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the Storybrooks cabin. The setting is magical with the creek running under it. Hearing the constant sound of water is so calming and good for your soul. The cabin is a delightful piece of Oregon history. It is very clean and comfortable. Also very well appointed and perfect for families. It would be great if the outdoor seating/dining were upgraded. Also, if rags were available to clean off the outdoor furniture that would have been nice.
