Get away from it all in the Salmon River Chalet, a custom built mountain lodge on the Salmon River near the end of a quiet mountain road. With the Salmon River in your backyard and bordering the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness in the Mt Hood National Forest, you will feel a sense of calm and serenity and truly get away from it all.

The large open floor plan is perfect for gathering with your family and friends with the centrally located kitchen in the middle of the living room and family room. The massive wrap-around deck is ideal for summertime barbecues and outside dining or just relaxing with a good book and glass of wine. Take a stroll on one of the property’s pathways to the banks of the Salmon River or walk a half mile down the road to the Bonanza Trail where you can hike in one mile or several depending on your energy level.

There are two living spaces and two dining spaces in the chalet creating plenty of room to spread out and relax. The game room includes a flat screen HDTV, foosball, air hockey, board games, kid toys (Lincoln Logs, forest animals, cabin books, etc.) and broadband internet.

The cabin includes 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms providing enough room for the whole family to spread out and relax. The primary bedroom upstairs includes a king log bed, an en suite bathroom with soaking tub and tile shower with private forest views. Listen to the soothing sounds of the Salmon River in this luxurious master suite and enjoy a morning coffee on the master's private deck overlooking the forest and the river. A pack-n-play is already set up and ready for little ones in the walk-in closet. The three other bedrooms are located downstairs. The first bedroom downstairs has a king log bed; the second downstairs bedroom has two twin log beds and third bedroom downstairs has two bunk-beds for the kids to enjoy.

Beautiful cabin on the River

Our family of 9 had a great time there. From the Grandparents all the way to the three year old. Lots of fun things to do in the house for kids and adults alike. The house itself was warm and inviting. It had a beautiful layout and direct access to the river. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we would expect in a vacation rental. Our only real complaint was the lighting. In the daytime the skylights did a great job illuminating the house, In the evening, the lights in the front living room and porch were pretty inadequate. We used our flashlights a lot. Other than that, we would highly recommend this place for a family get away!

Love it But Hard To Find

We loved our stay here and the entire family enjoyed the entire area. It was a little bit too difficult to navigate as it got darker earlier in the day and it was pitch black when we arrived. One of the rooms kept beeping throughout the day every half hour which we're assuming was a fire alarm needing new batteries. However it was still a great trip and we loved the labeled kitchen as we were able to cook through out the day without having to spend time searching for utensils. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

The cabin was very clean upon arrival, very well stocked kitchen, already had soap, shampoo, etc which is great! Check in process is perfect -no need to stop anywhere to pick up keys beforehand, just straight to the cabin. The notebooks of area information were helpful in choosing where we wanted to explore. The river is beautiful as well as the surrounding property. The area is nice and quiet, but close to grocery, hikes, Mt Hood area. We had a great stay!

Salmon River Chalet

We had planned a camping trip for a year but one hundred plus temperatures were forecasted so we scrambled for an air conditioned cabin. It was perfect for adults, the kids and dogs. The property was like a private forest that the kids loved to explore, close to lakes and rivers for daytrips and room to relax at night. It was a great, although short, vacation.

We stayed over the Fourth of July for 6 nights. The home was well supplied (even has a high chair that our grand toddler used). Great heating/AC (which not all homes have in that area). The only downside was the steep stairs. But since this is snow country, that is common. Close enough to Welches to be convenient, but also secluded. We had a really good time. Thanks, Dave and Sue

Our return trip in the winter is fun

We were in the very nice house in the summer of 2021; and we liked it so much that we came back to spend our winter vocation here. It is a great location to the Mt Hood ski locations; while at the same time allowed us to cook and relax at a home-like setting. One small area for improvement is to have some shampoo to allow shower taking in the first day of our staying.

Overall, the house was amazing! Lots of amenities for families and two king beds was a huge plus. The property is great to take the family out to experience nature. The house overall, has a well-stocked kitchen. The only downside is it is small (only really one person could be in it at a time). The beds were comfortable (ofc depends on your preference). The lower bedrooms are on the main floor, so if you need quiet for sleeping kids, keep that in mind if you intend to socialize after putting them to bed.

Wonderful house for our family of 7. Amenities are great, only complaint is very uncomfortable beds that could use memory foam toppers. Amazing hikes surround house, and our granddaughter really enjoyed the fairy garden and forest swing. Would definitely stay here again if they improved the beds. Very peaceful place to get away from it all. Would love to stay here when the snow arrives.
