Moosewood Cabin, a warm and cozy cabin with knotty pine walls and hardwood floors will remind you of your childhood vacations at Mt Hood. The cabin is perfectly situated near Mt Hood Skibowl, for family fun skiing, snowboarding and Cosmic Tubing during the winter and mountain biking and playing at the Adventure Park during the summer months. You will be just a 5-minute walk to downtown Government Camp for dining and shopping and just 1/2 mile to the Crosstown Trail for cross-country skiing and hiking. Year-round, you can watch the Saturday night fireworks at Mt Hood Skibowl from the front yard.

The vaulted great room includes the newly remodeled kitchen, the dining table and plenty of seating for everyone to gather around and watch streaming TV or play games and put together puzzles. The upstairs bedrooms have Internet TV where you can log in to your Netflix and Hulu accounts to watch your favorite TV shows and movies. The private outdoor hot tub is on the back deck where you can also access the summertime firepit for roasting marshmallows and warming your hands during the evenings.

This cabin is perfectly arranged for extended family vacations or three families traveling together. The main bedroom on the main level includes a queen bed with the newly remodeled bathroom with walk-in tile shower just across the hall. Two more families will each have their own bedrooms upstairs with two identical rooms. Each bedroom has a queen bed and a set of bunks and a private balcony for enjoying your morning coffee or afternoon drinks. These two bedrooms share a charming half bathroom between them. The stacked washer and dryer are on the main level for when your hiking, biking, skiing and play clothes need a little attention.

Good while it lasted

Checking in the key code was not set up correctly. Trying to get them on the phone took some tries. Beautiful cabin and easy access to town. Power went out but there were plenty of blankets and a couple restaurants open near by. Fireplace is electric with pellets so there was no source of heat. Even the pit outside was covered in snow. We did make the most out of it! Unfortunately did not use the house as much as we wanted.

We love to stay here! It's our second visit and has everything we need. The location is fantastic and the home was very very clean. Being able to have the hot tub during the winter was icing on the cake. Would recommend this home to anyone looking for an affordable, cozy Government Camp getaway. Staff was awesome and accommodated an early check-in.

This home is close to the middle of town and has the cabin feel. We really enjoyed the hot tub and other amenities that were provided. A perfect place to slip away and enjoy a quiet moment.

Coziest Cabin Ever!

This place was perfect for a cozy getaway. The thing I liked most was the stocked kitchen -- whoever owns this place is a chef. There are pie pans, dutch ovens, quality knives, food processors, you name it. Beds are comfy, hot tub is great, location is perfect. Loved this place.

We had a lovely stay at the cabin! The company does a wonderful job at communicating and providing everything you need to know. The cabin is in a great location and provided a great getaway. It does get quite hot in the cabin in summer however the fans help and still 100% would stay here again.

Awesome house, location, and communication but....

I have to start out by saying we had a great weekend trip here! The home was clean, had a well stocked kitchen, and was in a great location. Communication was also always thorough and on time. I would recommend staying here. With all that said, there’s one thing that just really bothered me about this stay. We were given 3 garbage bags and one roll of paper towels as a ‘starter kit,’ with instructions to purchase more from the general store in town if needed. Also, were given NO shampoo or conditioner in the showers. There was limited toilet paper as well as enough soap for ONE load of laundry. This may not be a big deal to most, but for the large amount of money spent for two nights here, I would expect to have more of a reasonable amount of these things provided for us. Fix that one thing and I’d come back again.

We had a great time in this cozy cabin. My only complaint is that I had to take the vacuum to the top bunk to suck up all the cobwebs on the ceiling. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while and I didn't want my daughter sleeping there in that condition. Otherwise, everything was great!

This cabin was perfect for our family of 7, and it could easily fit a family of ten. It was supplied with all the amenities and we had 3g internet service not bad for a cabin. Also for a pet friendly cabin it was pretty darn clean when we arrived. Now i have mention that the office staff at Mt.Hood Vacation Rentals are the best, they are sooooo helpful and are always there when you need them. All in all i would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this cabin to everyone its a 10 out of 10.

Great Cabin, plenty of space for us all 7, plus one large dog. Thought one full bath was going to be hard, but it worked out just fine. The half bath upstairs works for those night time potty trips. Great space in the living/kitchen area. Very clean, well thought out Cabin. The pellet stove can be a bit tricky, but are smarty that arrived on Saturday figured it out.

Great customer service and quick to respond to questions. The home is cozy and inviting. Our bed the single queen was very comfortable. Kids and another couple were in upstairs. I will say that we picked this place for location=perfect location for us skibowl 5min walk and to town same. The home itself was sufficient for what we were needing. Had games,Nintendo and nice warm fireplace in living room. I feel like the bathroom upstairs was a bonus considering we thought only one in is SMALL like supper tiny lol toilet and mini sink. But again a bonus to have an additional facility upstairs. Hot tub is very shallow and a little cloudy, they immediately came and drained and refilled, but still not really clear, but our view from it was beautiful. Had neighbors but never heard or saw them. Felt private.

PERFECT Place on the Mountain

Back to Basics Thanksgiving 2020

We are back to basics during Covid this year. Usually our Thanksgiving is a blend of multi-families and is aroud 30-40 people. We had our 4 adult children and just had a great time. We were a group of five, and there was room for 5 more! Nicely furnished, kitchen had everything you could want. Plenty of fluffy white towels. Nightlights needed new bulbs, the landline reception was horrible, and it was pretty noisy so close to the road, but overall it still was a very nice cabin. The group loved the hot tub and the easy directions for its use.

Cozy, well-equipped cabin

Super continent cozy cabin in government camp. At the foot of the bridge that crosses the freeway into the downtown, yet still very quiet. The most well-equipped vacation rental I’ve stayed in with ample utensils, serving platters and glasses. There is a half bath upstairs. Mt hood vacation rentals were super responsive and easy to work with. Would stay again!

Great stay at Moosewood Cabin!

We loved our first trip to Mt. Hood and Moosewood Cabin. The cabin was perfect for our family of four. Loved that you had so many games on hand (in particular GUBS!) and the location was just perfect. Two of us did night skiing once and loved it. We were able to snowshoe not far way out to Trillium Lake and ski at Mt Hood and Summit. Easy drive from Portland airport. The hot tub was great after a long day of skiing or snowshoeing. All in all a fantastic visit.

Spent the weekend here and we couldnt be more happy with our decision! House is stocked with everything you need. Lots of board games and a Super Nintendo to keep you entertained for those times not spent on the mountain. The only feedback is the front door would benefit from some WD-40. Quiet squeaky! Incredible and seamless-a wonderful “Once in a lifetime” event.

Thirty plus relatives descended upon Mt Hood for five lovely eventful days over Christmas 2018 and everything went like clockwork. Much credit goes to Betsy, Cari, Fay and all for listening patiently attending to every want and detail. Each of the three homes we enjoyed were complete, memorable and perfect. Thanks for guidance, gifts and especially the welcoming attitude expressed by all of you from Mt Hood Vacation Rentals. Moosewood is somewhat rustic in flavor yet very comfortable especially for smaller families with kids. Nearness to recreation and easy access to highway, restaurants and supplies make Moosewood a great choice.

Lovely Chalet in Government Camp

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful, wonderfully equipped cabin. Everything was wonderful from the incredibly comfortable memory foam beds to the fully stocked kitchen. We could walk to the town and to the ski bowl where we enjoyed cosmic tubing one night. The rental company was friendly and accommodating, the house is neat and beautifully maintained and we all enjoyed the hot tub watching as the snow gently fell on us. We can't to return next year.
