A beautifully restored 1939 vintage cabin will take you back in time to the early days of vacation retreats at Mt Hood. Get comfortable in the cozy and warm living room by the original rock fireplace with a woodstove insert. Cook meals in the modern and updated kitchen with new stainless appliances. You will love the big yard for summer fun with a sunny lawn and a shaded covered porch surrounded by tall old-growth Douglas fir trees.
The two bedrooms are upstairs with a queen bed in one and a double bed in the second bedroom. Recline with a good book in the reading nook at the top of the stairs in-between the two bedrooms. The bathroom downstairs is fully remodeled with a tub/shower enclosure, modern vanity and warm views of the backyard. The updated mudroom includes full-sized front-loading washer and dryer.
Grill on the gas BBQ year-round under the covered front porch. Listen to the soothing water feature and pond in the front yard, while you dine alfresco at the outdoor dining table. Kids will have fun in the play structure and running around the large lawn in the backyard. You can warm up around the 3-season firepit, too. The Wallace Cottage is close to Wildwood Recreation Site, Sandy Ridge Mountain Bike Trails and Mt Hood National Forest hiking trails. The Wallace Cottage is next door to the Bridlewood Cabin for 2 families or couples traveling together.

We enjoyed it thoroughly. It was so cute and had a lot of character. It was a very cosy place to spend Christmas we and we appreciated the many thoughtful details, including firewood, and first box of laundry detergent.
There were a couple things we wanted to mention: 1. We could not get the left side of the toaster to work.
2. And we would have appreciated a throw blanket in the living room to keep warm when hanging out on the couch in the living room (we had one in our car, so just used that...).

Cozy Cottage for a Lazy Weekend

My partner and I were looking to get out of the city and enjoy a quiet wilderness setting, and sit by a campfire in the snow. This spot was perfect for that. The cabin is cozy with a rustic feel, but not lacking in any modern amenities, and plenty of space. Recommend highly we may return soon

Quiet cottage in Mt. Hood neighboorhood.

It was veey quiet and clean and just the right size for the whole family. The club house unfortunately was locked so my kids couldnt play inside but they loved the horse shoes and deck.
It was difficult to find as the gps points to the oposite side of the property and there are two Wallace aves. The eaaiest way in is to stay on the main road, turn left on Mountain Air and the left on wallace. It is in a neighboorhood and people do live there but there is enough woodland around to kake you feel secluded. Overall great place.

Owners might supply a throw blanket or two for living room to make it more comfortable at night. Loved the kitchen and bathroom (except water heater only allowed 5 mins to fill tub or to fill sink for dishes). Beautiful front porch.

Very nice cabin. We did struggle with the wood stove. We couldn't get the smoke to rise up out of the house. Probably user error.

We had trouble finding the cottage. Wallace Ave splits in the middle and our navigation system kept sending us to the wrong side. Directions to the cottage would be helpful. We deeply appreciated the Meredith Lodging representative that stayed on the phone with us while we looked for the cottage. Your customer service was wonderful!

It's a great cabin that keeps the cabin feel, yet has all the modern appliances you need for a weekend. The yard, play structure and outside spaces were a nice bonus.

Adorable and clean cottage. Not super private and in the woods, but a nice getaway near Mt. Hood. I would totally stay here again. Just note that all the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs in case you need a potty trip in the middle of the night. Also, the neighbors are very close and can see into the bedrooms and main rooms due to the see-through Roman sades (not exactly private at night or when changing clothes). Hopefully, they will upgrade the shades. Also, bring your own salt and pepper.

What an adorable cottage! I was a little sad that we weren't able to go into the playhouse. It was mid-February when we went and the cabin stayed super warm and cozy. The only inconveniences about the place were the roman sades are totally see-through at night so everyone can see you changing in the bedrooms and there are 2 neighbors who can definitely see in from the road. You have to go downstairs if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The last minor gripe would be no salt or pepper in the house. Otherwise very clean and well-stocked.

Charming and cozy retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Wallace Cottage. It was very comfortable - we felt transported to another time and didn't want to leave! Perfect balance of updated amenities (in kitchen and bathroom) while keeping the charm of a rustic cabin. There are a lot of neighbors close by, but it didn't get in the way of feeling secluded from the outside world.
