Cedar Creek Hideaway is the perfect cabin for a quiet retreat away from the city. Surrounded by tall cedars, two seasonal creeks and the Mt Hood National Forest, a visit to this unique geodesic dome mountain cabin will leave you refreshed and relaxed. Centered on in a secluded setting, take a stroll along the winding driveway and enjoy the scenery or say “hello” to the deer who visit here daily at dawn and dusk. Meander down the trail to the seasonal creek with the waterfall and just sit back and relax.
The unique geodesic shape surrounds you in the vaulted great room with view windows, the fully-equipped kitchen, the woodstove and comfortable log cabin furniture. Step out to the wrap-around deck for socializing, grilling dinner or spending time with friends. Roast marshmallows and recount stories of the day’s explorations at Mt Hood while sitting around the firepit during the evenings.
The first level kids’ space downstairs includes a pool table and Internet TV for evening fun. This secluded cabin is perfect for unwinding and getting away with no cable TV and limited cell service. The Cedar Creek Hideaway is well-suited for one to three couples, a friends’ gathering or one or two families with three bedrooms and a loft (1 queen, 1 twin, 2 bunks with a double and twin each) plus 2 1/2 bathrooms spread out over 3 levels. My family really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Cedar Creek Hideaway! The home is cozy and very private. Had a little trouble accessing the house upon arrival because we didn’t have cell service and no access to email or the app to get the lockbox code. So future guests can learn from me and jot down directions and codes before leaving for your trip!

We liked the secluded location. It was super quiet. It does need a few details like, there was a DVD player but no DVD'S and lots of VHS tapes but no VHS player. And the pool table needs a short pool cue to play. The home needs updating for sure but is a good rustic cabin vibe.

This is the perfect family vacay spot. We went almost a full 4 days with no tv with our boys. Great time just enjoying the beautiful views, great amenities of the property and comfort of home!

I absolutely loved the stay. This was my first cabin rental, and I enjoyed this cabin more than I expected.
My entry code did not work when I arrived, but a quick call and Julie (I believe) was able to help me.
There was a used band-aid on the floor by the upstairs main bed. It was the only major thing we found that was missed during cleaning.
There were only four towels. It turned out to be enough for us, and if we needed more, I would have called the office (which was a short drive away).
I especially appreciated the check-out procedures being available. It took the guesswork on what my responsibilities were as a renter.
I have nothing but a great impression of the property and MHVR. My initial interaction with the door code and the great prompt help I received made the trip for me. Thank you so much.

We love staying at the Geodome! It's location was secluded from the neighbors, while still being really close to everything in Welches. You really felt like you had solitude in the forest. The beds were really comfortable & the kichen had a good mix of utensils & pans/dishes. We have a small issue with the door lock but the folks at Mt Hood Rentals were very helpful in getting it taken care of quickly! Cedar Creek Hideaway was a great base camp for our Mt Hood adventure!

There was still quite a bit of snow on the ground. The drive had been plowed and the area in front of the door had been cleared but there was not a shovel, that we found, to clean the steps and a path to our vehicle.
It looked like it had been a while since someone had stayed in the cabin so there were lots of cobwebs in the cabin.
Our family had a great time during our stay. The cabin was very secluded and our kids loved playing hide and seek.

Easy to find cabin. Didn't know there was a steep hill so we had to put on traction gear to tires so our van could make it up the slushy hill. Nearby snow parks and ski resorts. The cabin had a nice area to walk around and play in the snow. Very private area.

The cabin was real cool with 4 entryways. Open and nice. The spiral staircases made it impossible for my dog to go up or down stairs. It poured the whole entire time we were there and there wasn’t much refuge from the rain on the porch. The TV was downstairs in the bedroom and needed to sit on the bunkbed and ready to watch anything which made it pretty uncomfortable.
I was hoping for more hiking trails closer to the cabin rather than having to hop in my car and drive somewhere.

My friends and I stayed at the spot for 2 weeks to ski at Mt. Hood in July. We had an overall great experience. It was generally comfortable and spacious and an absolutely BEAUTIFUL location.
The internet is garbage. Might as well not have it. The place is marketed to large groups but the internet can barely support 1 person. That was extremely frustrating.
We had some bear issues with the garbage outside. A new bear-protective garbage solution could be great.

This was an incredible stay. Secluded with visions of an awe inspiring night sky. No better place to spend with a group of people you're trying to build a bond with. Even you decide to come out here on your own to get away from the madness of it all, this cabin comes decked with a collection of books which draws envy and respect. Firewood is provided to you and a grill is available for use along with pots and pans to spare. Although difficult to find, Mt. hood Vacation Rentals has the foresight to provide you with written directions which are straight forward and lead you directly to the cabin. Highly Recommend!

The location of this property is idea - very private and plenty to explore on the 7 acres. The house is definitely funky and original so charming but not luxurious. The master is open to the downstairs so can get noisy if you have kids who stay up later.

Awesome Weekend in the Forest

We rented the Cedar Creek Hideaway for my husband's 30th and we had a wonderful time! The acoustics in the house made the weekend that much more interesting. It's close enough to Thrift Way in case you run out of any food or drink necessities and it's a quick drive to some awesome hiking. The house was clean and the master bath alone is worth booking this cabin!
My ONLY complaint is that there were some mouse droppings in some of the pots and pans. If you're looking for a trip with friends and family that is somewhat close to Portland yet secluded enough to feel like you get the true "in the woods" experience then this is the place! Looking forward to going back!

A unique architectural marvel in secluded woodland setting!

This place is amazing! Great family get-away with lots of living space on 3 floors. My daughter was delighted to find glow in the dark night sky constellations on the bunk room ceiling. With the light off you really felt as if you were outside looking up into the sky! This space is well cared for and has everything you need for family dinners, lots of games, a pool table, grill and hiking trails. The staff was quick to respond to all communications and were very helpful and friendly.

Cedar Creek Hideaway is The Place! With a well-equipped kitchen that beckons 2-3 cooks working together, laughter & memories are prolific. The beautiful log table & benches is the perfect place for family meals, board games & time together! The pool table is great for socializing & demonstrating ones lack of skills ... or developing talent as my grandsons so quickly demonstrated. The beautiful surround deck is perfect for this locale as this cabin is secluded. With streams & waterfalls on both sides, the woods beg to be explored. Definitely our favorite family get-away!

Quiet Vacation Retreat

We were very happy with our stay in the Cedar Creek Hideaway. The dome provided fun acoustics with voices traveling in interesting ways. The wood stove made the stay quite cozy, even during a rainy, cool fall day. The kitchen was well equipped for holiday meals and the pool table provided hours of entertainment along with the whole house sound system. The library was quite extensive and I wished I had more time to explore all of the books.

Overall, this cabin was amazing! The overall feel was exactly what we were looking for during our vacation away from busy city life. The family room was open and allowed for our party to all be in the same spot, enjoying each others company. The pool table downstairs was a great additional feature!

We stayed here for a conference nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful with our booking and accommodation. The hideaway was a scenic, unique, fun place to stay. Every time we pulled up to the place I would stop and stare at how breathtaking the architecture was, especially nestled in the stunning scenery. The interior is actually pretty normal and fit our needs well. Comfy bedrooms, standard bathrooms, large dining room table, and an older kitchen we didn't use. The road /driveway was steep, unpaved, and had a few deep holes, so factor that into your decision of what car to drive or whether to stay here. Overall a great stay.

The cabin looks exactly like the photos - so picturesque and unique! There is a short trail to an amazing waterfall just off the last curve of the driveway - we walked our dogs there everyday and just stared in awe.
The driveway is long and steep, and it snowed close to 10 inches while we were there. But our Toyota Tundra with winter tires made it up and down with no problem (even without chains).
Highly recommend a stay!!

This is a great space. There are four beds downstairs, and two upstairs. The kitchen is a little dated but everything works and it is very functional. It is just a really cute cabin.
There are lots of dishes, glasses, pots, pans.
The write up says parking for two cars but there is space for about five. The driveway is long and steep as advertised. My friend with a prius had to drive up it backwards to keep traction, but my AWD did it without a problem.

The perfect vacation

Our stay at the cedar creek hideaway was the dream vacation. The house was very spacious, comfortable and awesomely beautiful. The views were breathtaking and the snow and ice on the outside combined with the warmth from fire stove on the inside made for that "Kodak Moment" in our lives. No details were left out in the accommodations Cedar Hideaway was very clean and well stocked with house hold needs, including a vast array of spices and cooking pots and pans. We Also joyed the BBQ on the outside - we're from Hawaii you don't BBQ in the snow in Hawaii - we did ??! "Braging Rights"The staff for Mt Hood Vacation Rentals we're very personable, friendly and atenttave to all our concerns and needs. Hats off to the staff and management - well done and thank you. Don't miss out on a big bucket list item. We're glad we didn't. We can't wait to next year.

Beautiful location and very cool layout. Everything in the cabin worked properly. Perfect amount of wood left for the included fire pit. Only complaint is somewhat lax cleaning. Bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen were spotless but nobody had dusted in forever. Cobb webbs in corners, in light fixtures etc. Staff was excellent! Will come again

Spent the weekend at this awesome cabin with a group of my friends. Everyone really enjoyed the cabin and my engineer friends geeked out about the unique design the whole trip. Plenty of space on a secluded property and an easy drive to government camp, just what we wanted!

My wife and I spent a delightful two days at the Cedar Creek Hideaway. We played pool, read and relaxed, and slept soundly with the sounds of a lovely creek just outside. We were glad it was just the two of us because the master bedroom is not very private. We're definitely open to renting this property again.

This was definitely a magical place. As soon as we pulled up I think it took us a while to pick our jaws up off the ground. Loved how it was tucked away and secluded. It totally felt like home once we got inside and unpacked. Very nice and cozy. We didn't have any maintenance issues which was such a relief. Definitely haven't had the same luck at other places we've stayed.
We had such a good time playing pool in the basement and laughed so hard. Then shortly after dinner we played several board games that were provided and stored in the closet. We ended every night in front of the fireplace sharing stories and reflecting on the good times in life.
To top it off, my friend accidentally left his fishing pole at the cabin and the management were nice enough to mail it back! Free of charge! Awesomeness
Overall I highly recommend this place. From how it's maintained and managed to the way it looks and makes you feel.

We had a wonderful time in the Cedar Creek Hideaway! The dome is amazing and the place was clean (minus a few spiders but hey, you are surrounded by beautiful trees! comes with the territory!) The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed to make coffee, breakfast etc and the store is a super short drive down the road. Many of the light bulbs were burnt out but there was plenty of natural light so it was never a huge problem.I think the Mt Hood Rentals was on that as soon as we checked out. 🙂 It was just my boyfriend and I and we kept pleading our friends to drive out from Portland since it is such a great place to stay with a big family or some friends, but it ended up just being the two of us and was lovely. Just a short drive to great hikes and even Timberline if you want to grab a drink on the mountain! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

A gem in the wood

Beautiful hidden house in the wood. Love the architecture of the dome designs. The house has all the amenities that we needed during our stay here. We had to call AAA road side assistance because our car got stuck on the gravel road on the way up to the hill. Beside that, we would love to come back again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house.

I stayed at this rental and it really is a hideaway. On the drive up to it there are a lot of close together properties and I was worried that there would be close neighbors but the house is at the top of a hill and feels very secluded even though it's a 5 minute five minute drive to thriftway. The upstairs shower sprayed water at odd angles making a mess, but other than that everything worked really well. The beds were comfortable, futon was great for napping, plenty of games and cards for entertainment. The house is very interesting architecturally speaking, the echoing was eerie. If two people stand in the right spot on two different floors and speak normally it sounds like the other person is whispering directly in your ear. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

We had a great time this past weekend. We were very cozy in the Cedar Creek Hideaway. We enjoyed the wood stove, pool table, and deck with the close proximity to the creek. We loved cooking in the big kitchen. We were disappointed that the internet tv didn't work well to watch football. The topbunks in the bottom rooms were difficult to sleep in since they were so close to the ceiling and sound travels far in the cabin. The road would have been really hard to get up had it been snow covered.

This was a great experience. The cabin is in an incredibly beautiful spot, it had everything we wanted. We went for my fiance's 40th birthday, with our two teenage sons, and everyone had a great time, even though there was no snow!! It was easy to deal with the rental company, they were very professional and courteous.
