Mt Hood Vacation Rentals to Close Temporarily by Executive Order
Dear Guests, Family & Friends,
In accordance with Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order this morning, March 23rd, and in an effort to slow the spread (flatten the curve) of the Coronavirus, COVID-19, we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily suspend operations at Mt Hood Vacation Rentals through April 30, 2020. We will continuously evaluate that date and plan to extend week by week as necessary until the shelter in place recommendations are lifted.
For Guests with stay dates between March 23 - April 30
During the past two weeks, we have been hearing from most of our spring guests with questions about their visits. Our compassionate and caring Vacation Planners are available to work with you to find future stay dates for your Mt Hood vacation. You will receive a future stay credit in the amount of the original reservation total; there are no change or cancellation fees. The credit can be used towards rebooking the same vacation rental for any available dates to be completed by April 30, 2021. If the new booking exceeds the cost of the original booking, the guest will be responsible for any additional charges. There will be no refunds if the new booking total is less than the original total. If you have not made your final payment for your visit, we will move that payment out to 45 days prior to your new arrival date. If you are unsure of when you would like to visit, you do not need to choose your future dates right now; you can wait to see what will work for you. The telephone number to call to speak with a Vacation Planner concerning COVID-19 and your reservation is 833-556-1619.
What if I am visiting between May and December?
We are grateful for your business and we truly love the opportunity to be a part of Creating Memories That Matter for you and your family. Our telephone lines have been unusually busy helping guests with March and April arrival dates, so we appreciate your patience in knowing we will be reaching out to you as we get closer to your reservation dates. Please mark your calendars to call and speak with us or email us one week prior to your arrival.
We are all in uncharted territory here as our world has not seen a pandemic like this in any of our lifetimes with global “shelter in place” and social distancing recommendations. Each week we will apply the same guidelines to your reservation as we did for our rental guests arriving prior to April 30, 2020. We will use the recommendations of medical professionals and scientists as our guidance to know when the pandemic is over and it is safe to travel.
When we are closer to your travel dates, we will show the same care and compassion for your reservation and your travel concerns as we have for our March and April guests. It is simply too early to know what will happen with your May, June, July or later vacation when in all likelihood our forests, lakes and rivers will be a place of respite for those that will have been quarantined at home for so long.
We have not yet relaxed our cancellation policy for any vacations scheduled to begin May 1 through the end of December, 2020. Most of all, we appreciate you patiently waiting until one week prior to your scheduled arrival for us to assist you with your travel questions. If you feel you must cancel now and prefer not to wait, then we will be happy to use the credit from this reservation to move your stay dates out to up to one year after your original stay dates. The telephone number to call to speak with a Vacation Planner concerning COVID-19 and your reservation is 833-556-1619.
In this unprecedented time of a pandemic crisis, we feel that we need to make the right decision for everyone including our team members, our homeowners, our guests and our neighbors. Mt Hood Vacation Rentals has been in business for over 28 years, building a solid foundation which will carry us through this very difficult time. When things calm down and the world is healthy, we plan on coming back as strong as ever.
In the next day or so, we will be reaching out to our guests to discuss rescheduling their vacations. We know that when the current daily stress has subsided, people will need a respite and we hope to provide that relaxing cabin in the forest for rejuvenation and rejoining with friends and family. If you have any questions or need anything, please feel free to call or email us. Betsy and Cari will be answering the phones and checking emails and staying in touch.
Stay well and best regards,
Mt Hood Vacation Rentals
