Salmon River Retreat-Ideal for Cooling off on a Hot Summer Day
Posted by Mt Hood Vacation Rentals | Friday, July 30, 2010

The Salmon River Retreat, a 2-story ranch style cabin stretched along the banks of the Salmon River under towering cedar and fir trees in Brightwood, Oregon is a long-time favorite Mt Hood Vacation Rental for staying cool on a hot summer day.  The spacious cabin offers river views from the great room, kitchen and master bedroom downstairs. The spacious deck all along the riverside of the home is just a few short steps from the river which flows slowly by during the summer months.

Even though the water is glacial melt from the top of Mt Hood, it is shallow in places here, warming it up a bit and making it a great place to cool off.  The deck has plenty of room for a BBQ dinner or to just relax with a favorite beverage and a good book.  The private outdoor hot tub is just around the corner with river views, too.

Mountain bikers can ride a couple of miles to the new Sandy Ridge Mountain Bike Trails off of Barlow Trail Rd and Homestead Rd (FS Rd 14) in Brightwood.  After your bike ride, toodle over to Brightwood Beach for a quick dip in the Sandy River.

And for larger groups, you can also rent the Salmonberry Retreat which is just a 5-minute walk down the road.

The Salmon River Retreat is this Week's Special Mt Hood Vacation Rental.  Four-night stays start at just $199/night.
