Timberline National Historic Trail

The Timberline National Historic Trail, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's is 39 miles long, circumnavigating Mt. Hood passing through sections of the Mount Hood Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail with Mt Hood views, waterfalls and alpine meadows along the forest's upper edge. You can hike several shorter sections of the Timberline Trail for shorter day hikes, then head back to a comfortable nearby cabin or lodge.
