The Salmon River Condo is a bright and sunny condo along the Salmon River creating a quiet, private setting. This comfortable home with riverfront and golf course views offers easy access to all mountain recreation and activities at a great value. If you are active and like to explore all day, this is the perfect place for you to make your basecamp. You will have all of the comforts of home including streaming TV and wifi plus an outdoor pool during the summer.
This spacious 1-bedroom, 2 bathroom condo feels more like a cabin with wood floors, rock fireplace and cedar accents. The breezes flowing through the river-viewing back deck are comfortable for reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine. Or you can take a walk along the path that parallels the Salmon River just steps from the condo.
The fully equipped kitchen is set up to prepare a full meal that you can enjoy at the dining table or on the deck. Or grill dinner on the gas BBQ and make it a picnic on the riverside picnic table. Sip a glass of wine at the riverside picnic table and watch the birds soaring overhead. During the evenings, you will want to cozy up in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace. This quiet setting will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated after your Mt Hood vacation. Your dog is welcome to join you at the Salmon River Condo for an additional charge.

We loved our beautiful October weekend at this little jewel. Perfect for a couples get-a-way. Quite and cozy with the wood burning fireplace and compact little kitchen. I would have given it 5 stars across the board, but there are a few things that could be improved. The hot water heater is not even close to adequate for a unit equipped with a soaking jetted tub, and barely enough for showers and kitchen use. Also, the interior was dated, but interesting and very well maintained, so we'd chock that up to a quirky vibe for sure (the space age shower unit in the main bathroom is fascinating, as is the floor tile). All in all, we loved our stay and will be booking again. Thank you, Meredith!

This weekend was our very first visit to the property. I chose this place for my birthday celebration & couldn't have been more pleased. My boyfriend & I had such a wonderful time, so relaxing & peaceful. There was no snow as we hoped for, but we still had a great time. Best part was we were granted a late checkout; we dropped the key off at 3:30, but we could've stayed longer; the office staff was so laid back & told us to take our time & glad we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely make this a yearly visit, if not more. 🙂

Very professional helpful people in the rental office. Property was well maintained outside, convenient, unit generally very clean, older appearing furniture seeming a bit dated but very comfortable, comfortable bed. Kitchen well equipped and easy to cook in. Good layout and size of unit, particularly for a couple or maybe +1( bedroom has king and single bed.)
Not sure fireplace wood completely dry as did not burn particularly well but both kindling and fire started cubes provided which was appreciated.
Partial view of river through greenery to one side of condo with other views across green & bushes/ trees to other units. Close to a walking path to river so some people walking dogs and could look into unit so not completely private but easy to close or partially close blinds if privacy preferred.
Easy drive up to Timberline and nearby walks and hikes. Different restaurant possibilities ( ate at Rendevous, coffee shop across their parking lot friendly/good coffee)
Overall comfortable unit that provided the desired peace and quiet desired along with convenience of amenities and access to activities.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway, March 2017

We had a great time at the Salmon River Condo # 5 . The view, the amenities and the location are just perfect. The property was clean and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. We managed to visit the Salmon river trail down the road and highly recommend it. The proximity to mount hood slopes makes this an ideal base for the skiing and snowshoeing enthusiasts. Kayla recommended us to visit the White river Canyon for snowshoeing and we are glad we listened to her!

Winter Wonderland Experience over New Year's

This was such a perfect place to stay for a weekend get away over New Year's. It was clean, great amenities, and beautiful view of the river, mountains. Plenty of wood for the fire and just a mile up the road from the main street and grocery. We even got 2 feet of snow to enjoy - but recommend having a snow shovel handy to dig clear a path for the car. 😉

We like the condo very much. Guest bath could use a refresh and some better light nobody likes a dark bathroom, new toilet. Otherwise very comfortable and nice feeling in the condo. Glad that the condo person contacted us day of our stay to make sure we had directions. Would prefer to just have a lock box on condo and go straight to unit not have to find two places. Folks should know that it is prohibited to go in the creek. I think that is not up to the condo to control or limt but rather just state creek use is not under oversight of condo and go at your own risk.

The location was great. This unit was quiet, away from the street, with a river view and parking practically at the front door. It was clean, comfortable and the two full baths were ideal. It was snowing the entire time we were there, but the location was just down the street from the grocery store with easy Hwy 26 access. Definitely coming back!

A peaceful retreat

My wife and I spent a long weekend there. We were right next to the river. We brought our dog and had a very peaceful and relaxing time. We had dinner several times in Welches. The food was very good and vegan friendly. I highly recommend this super nice place.

The place itself was clean, bright, and comfortable. With 2 dogs it was very convenient to have the big, open lot to romp in right out our back door. Having the river right there was beautiful as well. There are so many of the best trailheads for our favorite hikes within 5 - 20 minutes of our place. Everything was so easy, and convenient and beautiful. The grocery store is 5 mins away with a good selection. And Fay is an Oregon State Treasure! She was incredibly warm, friendly, and customer-oriented. Her support in finding us such a great place at the last minute, and guiding us to some great hikes, was tremendously helpful. Thank you! We'l be back

Relaxing and Invigorating!

We stayed at Shadow Hawk the week of 6 June 2015. It was a perfect week weather-wise. Not a cloud in the sky and 80 degree temperatures all week. Some might say it was too warm. Purpose of trip was to take a guided climb to summit of Mt Hood (successful!). We took advantage of hiking around Mt Hood trails, having breakfast at the condo then venturing out and returning to the condo for late lunch or dinner. Relaxed on the outdoor patio and grilled one evening (the grill was dirty and emitted a lot of smoke and grease burning so check the grill before you grill!). Stay was convenient and comfortable. Nice neighbors who live there too. If you want to watch movies, bring your own. There is a collection of books but only found 1 DVD. Internet service was generally good, sometimes wireless was choppy. Same with cell service, but that's the norm here. Built a fire a couple nites (it does get chilly at nite) and fireplace worked great. Didn't use jacuzzi tub.

We were planning to stay with our two daughters and their families at their cabin in Welches, when we came up with the excellent idea of renting a small apartment for the three days where we could stay on our own. It exceeded our expectations. Conveniently located, very clean, excellently furnished and everything you would possibly need was provided. Escape from Fireworks?

We came to the mountains to escape the chaos and noise of fireworks in Vancouver. Rental was mostly quiet but neighboring Resort had a 4th celebration with enough explosions to send our dog into a night of panic. Not under the rental property's control but still disquieting.

WONDERFUL. We checked in, tired from our cross country trip, and asked for some dinner places. The nice lady at the desk offered up two choices -- one we ate at the first night and the other the second. GREAT ADVICE!

I liked everything about my stay there except two things:
1. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and
2. The sound-proofing was poor. I was awoken a couple different times by the tenant above us. You could hear them walking around, etc.
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves but those two points were downers.

I recently spent 2.5 days at this property for my annual Solstice celebration with my three grown kids and my son's girlfriend. We all had a fabulous time. It was the perfect space for us to cook and eat and celebrate together, as well as relax and just be. We loved that the condo was on the river and so close to Mt. Hood and Timberline Lodge, where we went skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. It was a quiet, peaceful place. Definitely money and time well-spent.

So little time and so much to enjoy!

My daughter and I stayed here (3 nights) to end our vacation in Oregon. We had traveled by car to southern Oregon, staying there for the first half of our 10-day vacation. During our second half, we had intended to enjoy the Mt. Hood Byway, Columbia River Gorge and Astoria. And we wanted to do all of this as well as attend my cousin's wedding at Red Ridge Vineyards. Needless to say, we did not do all of it. The location was pretty good as far as getting back and forth to the places we did see...Red Ridge, Columbia River Gorge and Mt Hood.
The hard part about leaving was not only that we did not get to see and do some of the things I mentioned above, but we also did not get time to just sit and relax at Shadow Hawk #5. This condo has quite a few nice amenities like the deck on the back with grill, not to mention the fireplace and the swimming pool and hot tub. If I had planned better, I would have allowed time for some rest and relaxation as well.
The only thing I would change is an addition of a few note cards next to some of the electronic fixtures, such as the heating/AC system, so that guests can learn how to operate them properly. Also, the dining furniture could use some updating. Aside from that, we lacked nothing in the necessities with this rental.

ShadowHawk #5 is old and outdated though the price is not! The baths both badly needed a makeover. The toilets did not flush well, the fixtures were old and stained, the floor tiles were dirty and in need of restaining and fresh grout, etc...The kitchen was no better. The dishwasher was old and very loud and we were told to help housekeeping by running the dishwasher prior to checkout as well as do laundry! The kitchen was also not stocked with any coffee - even Best Western stocks your room with coffee! Also, we ended up having to split our own wood for the fireplace since what was provided was inadequate and the extra wood that was available was way too large to burn in such a small fireplace. Don't know who owns this unit but the property manager (who was great by the way) really needs to either insist that they upgrade this condo or stop renting it out at this price! One really good thing though. Great location next to the river.

We regret that the ShadowHawk condo did not meet your expectations. We will check the bathroom fixtures to see if they need repair. We ask guests to not do laundry as we send it out to be professionally laundered, so we are sorry you misunderstood that. The split firewood is stacked on the back deck which can be accessed from the sliding glass door right next to the fireplace. It sounds like you found the larger quarter rounds that had not been split by your maintenance crew. We leave many items in the kitchen including salt, pepper, basic seasonings, cooking oil and all of your basic paper supplies, but as you noticed, we do not leave coffee. A good idea though. This is our lowest priced property and we believe the price, which is competitive for our area, is very good for the home, which really is in pretty good condition. We regret that the ShadowHawk condo did not meet your expectations. We will check the bathroom fixtures to see if they need repair. We ask guests to not do laundry as we send it out to be professionally laundered, so we are sorry you misunderstood that. The split firewood is stacked on the back deck which can be accessed from the sliding glass door right next to the fireplace. It sounds like you found the larger quarter rounds that had not been split by your maintenance crew. We leave many items in the kitchen including salt, pepper, basic seasonings, cooking oil and all of your basic paper supplies, but as you noticed, we do not leave coffee. A good idea though. This is our lowest priced property and we believe the price, which is competitive for our area, is very good for the home, which really is in pretty good condition. SH#5 is a quiet condo along the banks of the Salmon River in Welches, OR. Many opportunities for hiking, or just sitting inside and reading one of the many books found in the bookcase.

ShadowHawk#5: First time here...liked the first floor convenience...weren't there very much, but the only repair item would be the toilet in the bath off the kitchen...needs to be adjust or rebuilt. Didn't get to use the fireplace.

Pool & Hot tub in bad condition!!!

The pool was so filled with so much chemical that you could not see the bottom. So we could not use it, my son was really sad about that. I called twice to make sure the pool was in service, I was told yes both times. We only stay where there are pools. The condo itself was nice.
