Staying at your cabin was an excellent choice. We had a great time!
Great Place!!
Sure, it's set up for families, but nevermind that. This is the perfect romantic spot for all of us childfree couples looking for a mountain cabin. Spacious, full amenities. Washer and dryer really welcome after a rainy hike. Minor drawbacks only - Some livingroom pillows smelled faintly of dog, we needed directions for the dishwasher, the heavy chlorine chemicals in the hot tub made us start to feel ill after just two days. But we'd go back again. It's beautiful, well-appointed, and private.
We are glad to hear that the Henry Creek Cabin was the right place for your romantic getaway. We will get those pillows laundered. The hot tub should not have been so chlorine-like; if you run into that again, please call the office and we will send someone from maintenance right over.
Our family loved this cabin! Great location. Close to kayking, hiking, Mt Hood. Beautiful setting. Mt High Coffee and well appointed general store close by -- very handy! we'll be back!
a wonderful experience. we took it because of your advice re location near trailheads. it was just as you said - the perfect location for a hiker. even for more sedentary types (me) it was a great place to just contemplate the woods from the hot tub. the only drawback i can think of is that some of the furnishings and appliances are getting a bit worn & i could never muscle the grill's gas tank open, but this is minor stuff. i'd definitely recommend this location to anyone, but especially if you like to hike or even just stroll in the woods.
We just finished our stay at Henry Creek Cabin in Mt Hood. What a great place to spend a few days. The cabin was clean, comfortable and ideally located to all of the attractions in the area. The Mt Hood Vacation Rental staff was very helpfull with anything we needed, especially when we wanted to go and pick our own raspberries. They provoded us with multiple places including names, phone numbers and maps. The Mt Hood area is breathtaking. Many , many trails to hike both short and long and Mt Hood itself is just awe inspiring. We had a wonderfull experience and hope to return many more times. Thanks for everything.
I think my boyfriends comment (after being there for about 30 seconds) was "Do we have to go home?". I think we would have been happy there for MUCH longer than the long weekend we were able to take off. I would highly recommend this location, and we are going to try a different location the next time we can get away. My mother came with us and enjoyed the whole thing. It was nice for her to get away and she was a little cautious not knowing what she was getting into. The next day we celebrated my son's birthday party and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. Thank you for the time away.
Everything was funktastic. The hot tub was clutch, love the location. It's hot and nice. We only saw one bear on the property, and it went away after a couple hours of hiding in the house. Thanks for the nice weather all weekend, it couldn't have been better! I think we broke the sound barrier? But all the glass stayed intact, and we didn't break anything in the house. Balthasar helped us clean...don't worry about it.
The coffee pot did not work and the bbq's ignition button did not work either but other than that it was wonderful and relaxing. Thank you
We really enjoyed our stay in the charming seclusion of the Henry Creek Cabin. It was very close to the cross-country skiing and snow shoeing which we enjoyed in the Mt. Hood area. The folks at Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals were most helpful and friendly. This was our second year in a row to enjoy the service from Mt. Hood Rentals.
We absolutely loved our stay at Henry Creek Cabin! It was more than we could've hoped for when we booked it. The feel was so comfortable that we'll definitely be returning.
I filled in the written review. It would be great if you could just ask for one or the other. Thanks.
We were able to get away together and stay in one area. We could dine together, take walks, play games and just catch up with one another's lives. We live in different states and it allowed us to spend all of our time together.
Had a great stay at Henry Creek Cabin. The only downside was proximity to neighbors - couldn't really see them, but could definitely hear them. Overall great place though!
We had a wonderful at Henry Creek Cabin. The location was wonderful with easy access to Timberline and other area attractions. Fantastic location for hiking. We brought our 2 year old twins who loved the place including the Lady and the Tramp DVD. We all enjoyed Wildwood State Park (thanks to Cari for recommending it). Even though it rained the entire stay we got out and enjoyed everything that the area had to offer. It was lovely to stay in such a warm and comfortable place as a family (including our dog). We will definitely be back and look forward to skiing as well. Thanks.
We really liked how well equiped the kitchen was. The yard needed some maintainence. We liked the hiking trails.
If you want a place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature you've found the right place. Warm and friendly and very clean. Rental staff outstanding. Our dog was welcomed with "cookies" and his own blankie. we'll be back!
large comfortable cabin with a large deck & hot tub. Good location just around the bend from Barlow trail. This was great for hiking and walking the dogs. Private, yet close proximaty to the main road and the grocery store. We would definately consider staying here again.
We've stayed at Henry Creek Cabin several times - love it! It's a great getaway - and close enough to Portland to make it easy.
We loved the cabin! The hot tubing in the snow was wonderful and it made us feel like we were a million miles away from civilization even though we were minutes from town and terrific skiing!!!
This was the perfect place for a nice quiet and peaceful vacation.
Location and property was fantastic but the cabin needs to be modernized inside.
Our guests tell us that privacy and security are important to them, therefor we do not provide addresses and directions to the rental homes prior to arrival. When most of our guests live within a 1-2 hour drive from the rental homes, we have found that many, if they have the address, will drive to the cabin in advance to "look around". Unfortunately, when our cabins are secluded and semi-secluded that becomes instrusive to the guests who are staying in the home at that time.
I forgot a hairdryer and thought it would be nice if one was provided. also really had to search for a box of kleenex! Also hard to find extra blankets for my son who slept on the pullout. One more tv/vcr set up would be nice for the kids while we watched the Blazers game! Also, the hottub was not ready and working when we got there and also the smoke alarm batteries were running low and beeped constantly. Thank-you
We do have hair dryers available in the rental office. Each bathroom has a box of tissues, too. The extra blankets are in the closet in the hallway upstairs, also in the master bedroom closet and in the cedar chest in the master bedroom. We are sorry you did not find them during your visit. It's no fun to have a beeping smoke detector; we were happy to remedy that during your visit.
The cabin was gorgeous. The bed was very comfortable. The living room furniture was also very comfortable. And, the hot tub was huge and perfect. However, the kitchen was less so. The burners on the stove were all crooked and out of shape and dirty so that when you turned them on smoke filled the kitchen. I had to wash the broiler pan before I could use it. The fireplace did not draft so the living room filled with smoke and we had to put the fire out and not use it.
Thank you for the head's up on the stovetop burners; we will get them replaced. The woodstove has a 2-story stovepipe so it can be tricky to get it to draft. We will however make sure we leave instructions with the woodstove to assist future guests in avoiding the smoke.
We loved the place and would gladly bok it again. I was annoyed with all the rules and potential fines for moving furniture, not properly disposing of garbage, etc. I'm on vacation, I do not want to worry about cleaning and making property mgnt's job easier. We paid a fair price.
Our stay was great. The cabin was very clean, spacious and beautiful. The management folks were helpful and nice.I do have a few suggestions- More hot tub towels. We had 4 adults with only two provided. The heat pump was very loud and it is located by the Master bedroom.Otherwise I would rent this property again.
Cabin was very cozy, secluded and peaceful. Was perfect for some weekend R and R! The only issue was the wood stove. The flue would not open up and our short lived fire filled the house with smoke. That was our one complaint. Other than that everything from the couch, to the bed, to the hot tub were perfect.
We regret that the woodstove was not functioning properly for your stay. We are having a professional take a look at it.
We enjoyed our stay. The rental staff are very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome.
It was very lovely. Unbelievable setting! Hated to leave. Only two small suggestions for improvement. The first: provide shampoo. I was already in the shower before I realized I had to get down to the store to get some. I'd also provide hotel-like coffee packs for the morning. Small hotel-like touches that make a difference. But otherwise, TERRIFIC!
Hi-We have decided not to provide small containers of shampoo, lotion, coffee and other amenities to keep the levels of waste and non-recyclable trash down. We did the math and if we provided small containers of lotions and potions, that would equal several thousand little plastic bottles in the landfill each year just from our company.
linens not so great (actually holes); no nearby trails; GREAT hot tub
You can access dozens of miles of trails right out the front door. When you walk down to the end of the driveway, you just walk across the street to the Barlow Route, then walk about 1/4 mile to reach the Castle Canyon Trailhead. Another 1/4 mile gets you to the Zigzag Mountain Trailhead which leads to several other trails. Or you can just stay on the old road converted to trail that you are on for a 2 mile out and 2 mile back easy walk. We try to catch the old sheets and get them out of inventory. We apologize that you ended up with less than standard linens.
The thing that remains is the nickel and diming this company does. Every additional person is money. When you rent a house it should include the amount of rooms. For example 4 Bedrooms should include 4 to 6 people, not 2. That being said, Loved the house. Hated the rental company. We have been up since and not used this company. Good luck.
We have decided to set our rates in the same way a hotel sets rates, starting with double occupancy. This makes it more affordable for a couple or small group to rent a home. Otherwise, the costs might be too high for those smaller groups. We think this is fair because the more people in the house, the more use and the more it costs. I am sorry this doesn't work for you and that we have lost your business. It has been appreciated by the vast majority of our customers. Betsy
I would not recommend Cascade Property Managers based on their performance after we had left the unit. As far as the unit goes, it was fine and per advertisement. The thing is, that I had left my sandals there on accident, after the final sweep. I don’t know where they could have been… Anyway, the staff at the desk wanted $30 plus the cost of shipping the sandals back to me. Very disappointing, given that they were only $22 dollar sandals to begin with. The thing is, that that model had been discontinued and no amount of searching yielded a pair that I liked as much. So they stole my silly sandals. I am not very happy with them about that. We paid $1400 for 4 nights, of which we only used three, and they wouldn’t even be reasonable about costs after the fact. ~Travis Brown Everett, Wa (Kim Purdy made the reservation; I paid for it.)
on sight when the cleaning lady was there. I said, "do you have to call him and have him leaving by 11:00 also (I was just kidding around with her), she then said to me in a very snotty voice, "ya, but I can't do that until you guys leave!". I also informed her about a huge carpender aunt problem at the property. It was so bad we couldn't even sit out on the deck. She didn't even acknowledge that I had said anything to her. I have stayed many times at properties of yours and this was not the norm. I usually have only nice things to say about the employees and the property. I am sorry to report that was not the case this time.
