Wonderful cabin/lodge, great location. A fantastic repeat trip!
The hot tub was cold when we arrived late Friday afternoon. That was a big disappointment. But other than that, things were fine.
The light fixture over the kitchen table had cobwebs galore! The furniture in the TV room was probably awesome when new but is now trashed. Nothing you can do about the neighbor but he had a very loud party. The rental company was wonderful!!
My husband and I have five children with the two youngest boys being sixteen this was a challenge to come up with a family gift that would intrest everyone. We found the cabin on line and thought it would be perfect.I called the next day and the staff helped us to plan an entire snowboarding trip for everyone.All seven of us fit in the cabin very comfortably(including our dog Sadie)and we all had an awesome time!The kitchen was stocked better than I expected with much more than was listed on the ammenities. There were games in the cabinets,movies galore and having the hot tub was great after a day on the mountain.The only down-side of the entire trip was having virtually no snow this year. Although that did allow us the chance to enjoy the outside areas of the husband loved the horseshoe pit by the river!We would recommend this experience to everyone.
The water system for the neighborhood shut down. Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals responded immediately to our after hours call with drinking water to tie us over. We were told that the system had problems at times. Just a great followup.We could not have been happier with our stay.
The cabin was beautiful and well-maintained. Only downside: it didn't really sleep 10. The pull out sofa bed was so uncomfortable that we ended up sleeping on the floor. When I mentioned this at check out, the property manager made no attempt to make it right.
Great place to stay
Our two oldest sons moved from Nebraska to Portland. We try to get together as often as possible. The mix includes two "grandpuppies". Thanksgiving was wonderful with everyone in a beautiful home setting, cooking capabilities, river and mountain activities, and a bit of seclusion. We highly recommend the River Rock Lodge and Cascade Rentals.
We look forward to coming back to Mt. Hood. The lakes and trails were so beautiful, they took us away from the craziness of the city and the recent days of depressing news. Thank you!

Great house; nicely decorated; we enjoyed the hot tub; great river view; lots of comfortable seating; modern kitchen; we had a wonderful time!
We had a wonderful time winter time! The house/lodge was absolutly amazing. The accomidations were perfect for couples that don't neccessarily want to sleep right next to eachother. Great entertaining space and 2 fireplaces...a dream cabin come true. Private, peaceful, clean and spacious. I would return in a heartbeat.
We have rented many different houses over the past 5 or 6 years and can honestly say we have never been disapointed. This house was large, open and roomy, but still cozy. The kitchen was wonderful. We'd absolutely stay here again.
Property and house were great...beds were pretty old and uncomfortable...that's my only complaint.
House was beautiful. Downstairs shower head did not put out hot water. Staff did respond and attempt to fix it. They were going to send a plumber after we checked out. Overall was a great place and we were happy.
There were a few things that made this less than ideal. The picnic style dining table was uncomfortable. There was no plug for the master bath tub. We never have enough kitchen towels. The fireplace was wonderful and the views were great. There were a few lights out and no replacement bulbs could be found.
Thank you for your comments. Either you love the "Flintstone" log table or you don't. Thank you for the head's up on the bath tub drain plug; it has been taken care of. There should have been extra light bulbs in the drawer in the kitchen island. We will make sure that drawer gets re-stocked. The 2 huge river rock fireplaces are very nice in this home.
I think it would be helpful to clearly let people know ahead of time that although the river "view" is awesome from the back yard that there is no way to actually get to the river to dip your toes in. The photos gave us every indication that it was accessible from the property. River access is very important to our family so we'd probably pick a diff. home next time esp. during summer months. Other than that, all was wonderful!!
Cascade property members were phenomenal, the house was perfect except more available soap for showers would be nice one bar for both shower and sink not enough had to buy at store, otherwise can't wait to stay again.
There was a problem in the master bath that required maintenance to come out, one of the faucets did not work. Should have been found by the cleaning crew before check-in. Lid on the BBQ came loose, we fixed that. Otherwise home was nice, good location.
Our family stayed at the River Rock Lodge to celebrate our daughter's 30th birthday. We had a wonderful time! It was such a pleasant surprise to find that the property was even better than the pictures on the website. We will return!
There was not enough firewood for a 6 night stay, when commented upon, the agent stated it was for a 3 hour fire, there was still not enough wood for a 3 hr fire for 6 nights; there was not enough duralogs for a 6 night stay; the toiletries such as toilet paper was not enough for 6 people to say 6 nights, we ran out of hot tub chemicals, dishwasher degerent and washer degerent; even with all of the lack in substance it was a wonderful stay. I would have prefered though to not have to deal with the lack in supplies that were suppose to come with the rental. I did not rent the house to supply it.
The property overall is very good, and the location is good. Should let renters know just how close the adjacent property is. Hot tub was too dirty to use and had an odor to it. I own two hot tubs, so I know how to maintain them. I told property management this at check out. Their only comment was that maintenance was there on friday. I expected a little more from the management since I have rented property from them on four different occasions. They were also missing the bathtub stopper in the master bath. These problems may sound minor but at this level of rental you are paying not to have these problems.
Beautiful location and home, however several things broken (1st floor shower, 2nd floor faucet), dirty (rugs, floors), or of poor quality given the rental rate (mattresses).
The refridgerator was not working and had not been working for some time-smelled bad. Our food went bad.Laundry room door drags the floor. Master shower door will not close -floor is swollen from water damage. Masterbed curtain rod is loose. curtains not on rings. Downstairs bathroom shower is difficult to figure out. works backwards from normal. All sink hot/cold handles installed incorrectly- wrong direction and loose. Very annoying. Master bathroom is the ONLY bathroom upstairs!No knobs on cabinets to open/close. Closet doors never anchored to floor! No provision for hanging wet towels in either bathroom! Bad for multi-people.Needs maintenance to get $300+ for this house.Would not stay at this house again.
Thank you for all of your comments. We regret there were problems with so many items during your visit. The refrigerator has been repaired, the shower door has been adjusted and all of the other items have been remedied.
There is a laundry room with a washer & dryer just to right of the front door and behind the kitchen, so not sure what is meant by this comment. We think you may have this home confused with a different home.
