Betsy - President/Owner & Property Manager
Betsy moved from California to Oregon in 1979 to attend Oregon State University. In 1982, she moved to Mt Hood to work at Mt Hood Meadows and Timberline Lodge. Betsy opened Mt Hood Vacation Rentals in 1991. The business has since grown to be known as the premier
vacation rental company at Mt Hood with the top priority of providing quality, clean and well-maintained vacation rental homes to guests along with exceptional and personalized customer service. Betsy spends her free time skiing in the winter, bike riding
in the summer and going on vacations in the western United States. Betsy currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Vacation Rental Managers Association and the Clackamas County Tourism Development Council.
Cari - Front Desk/Reservations/Maintenance & Housekeeping Scheduler
Cari grew up in the Mt Hood area, attending grade school and high school locally. She attended Eastern Oregon State University for 2 years, studying nursing. Missing the green trees and the majestic Cascade Mountain Range, Cari moved back to the area in the
summer of 2003, when she came to work at Mt Hood Vacation Rentals. Cari has had previous experience with reservations and customer service at other Mt Hood area resorts. Cari's ability & willingness to learn new skills quickly coupled with her knowledge of
the area and her friendly personality have made her a perfect fit for Mt Hood Vacation Rentals. Cari is a creative knitter and an enthusiastic gardner in her spare time.
Emily - Front Desk/Reservations
Emily grew up in Welches and attended Welches Grade and Middle School, graduating from Sandy High School. Shortly after high school, she moved to Idaho with her family, where she attended college and worked until February 2011 when she moved back to Oregon.
Emily has worked at several hospitality jobs including the Rendezvous Grill and the Soup Spoon locally, as well as Blockbuster Video in Idaho. Emily's best friend is her Newfoundland dog, Diesel, (see the photo) who she enjoys taking on hikes and river swims.
Emily began working with MHVR during the winter of 2011. Emily's favorite hobby which she is planning to develop into a career is photography.
Paul - Maintenance Manager
Paul is a long-time resident of the Mt Hood area. He is a licensed contractor and owner of Big Dog Fence Company. Paul is an avid outdoorsman, spending his free time mountaineering, skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking and playing with his dogs. Paul is responsible
for maintaining the exterior grounds and hot tubs of our vacation rental homes. He also performs many of our interior maintenance projects. Paul is available for larger deck, fence, gazebo and "hot tub complex" jobs as well. Paul enjoys being creative and
keeping the homes and yards looking beautiful. As Betsy's husband, Paul is the unofficial business consultant for Mt Hood Vacation Rentals.
Gary - Maintenance Technician
Gary moved to the Mt Hood area with his family from Maine a few years ago. He worked as a carpenter in Maine, gaining experience remodeling his own farm house as well as many other homes. His experience includes site preparation, foundations, framing, sheathing,
roofing, window, door and skylight installation, interior and exterior trim and finish work. Gary gained hands-on knowledge of grounds maintenance while working his 40 acre farm. While at Mt Hood, Gary has worked for general contractors and at Mt Hood Skibowl
and Timberline. In his free time, Gary coaches his son's baseball team an enjoys attending local music events. With his broad experience level, there hasn't been a project at a vacation rental that Gary could not handle.
Jazzy - Housekeeping
Jazzy grew up in the Willamette Valley on a family farm. She was very active in 4H and spent much of her time raising lambs for the local youth market program. Jazzy moved to the Mt Hood area in November of 2011 to enjoy all of the recreation Mt Hood has to
offer, including snowboarding. She has been working with Mt Hood Vacation Rentals since February 2012. Jazzy enjoys doing anything outdoors and is looking forward to doing a lot of camping and hiking this summer. She is also very creative and spends time
on a variety of arts and crafts including pottery, painting and sewing.
Cooper - Company Mascot
Cooper found his way into our hearts in the fall of 2003. He is half Newfoundland and half Labrador, a Newfador or as we lovingly refer to him. Cooper has a big friendly heart and cannot resist saying hello to everyone. He doesn't hang out in the office too
often because he just has too much energy. Cooper will sometimes test the water in the rivers to make sure all is well. In his spare time, Cooper likes to ski, hike, accompany mountain bikers, sleep and most of all, EAT. Good news, Cooper who is now 7 1/2
was packing on the pounds every year, but his New Year's Resolution to lose weight is working; he has lost 20 pounds, going from 150 to 130. Ten more to go!
