My friends and I rent houses for an annual friends-giving type event. This was our 8th or 9th year and this was one of my favorite houses. Really great layout for visiting with people. The kitchen and dining rooms are open, there's also two seating areas. We brought along two kids who loved the playscape. Rooms were all well appointed with plenty of blankets and towels. Kitchen came equipped with tons of pots, pans, and the like. Beautiful house. I loved that the entry was keyless and checkout didn't require going back to the rental office. More outdoor lighting near hot tub and providing some laundry detergent would have been great, but are such minor details. Overall, we loved it.

Roads End Lodge is just that, a little slice of heaven. It was like visiting an old friend as I had stayed at this property several times when it was Deer Island Chalet and having it back on the rental market is a real plus. The house has been remodeled inside and out, high-end appliances, large granite island, many pots and pans. The open floor plan, the eclectic furnishing and the homey feel is an easy sell. It rained most of the time we were there but nobody cared, we had deer in the yard eating everyday we were there. I am looking forward to going back soon.
We are so happy to hear you love the Road's End Lodge. It is the perfect place to sit, gaze out the windows and watch mother nature all day long.

We did see the "obligatory" deer this time, just like last time. We think that Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals has a contract with the local deer population that they are required to send at least one representative to stroll past the cabin at least once per guest stay, and they did. We did however see more species of butterflies and moths than you could imagine. Our boys spent hours studying them. Therefor we vote the name be changed to Butterfly Island Chalet.
That said our 7 night stay was peaceful and enjoyable. We fished almost every day, hiked, made s'mores, and enjoyed this wonderful home.
We are sad it will be unavailable for a while due to renovation, and even sadder that it may be off the market as a rental for good. You can bet if it is ever available again, we will be back.
Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Good News! This awesome cabin is once again available for your vacation with 2 more bedrooms, an added bathroom, a completely new and spacious kitchen, about 1000 sq feet addition and a new name, The Road's End Lodge.
