Foodies: Head up to Mt Hood this Fall for Great Food, Wine, Beer & Coffee

Oregon's Bounty offers a variety of culinary delights for food and drink lovers everywhere.  Oregon is well known for its fresh fruits, vegies, seafood and home-grown meats as well as wine, craft beers and fresh roasted coffees.  During the next few months, the delicious food and beverages and the incredible ways they are prepared by Oregon's chefs, brewers, winemakers and roasters will be showcased at a number of events in the Mt Hood area.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3

 

 


SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4
First Annual Mt Hood Blues and Brews at The Resort at the Mountain. From Noon - 8 PM, join us on the 19th Green in front of mallards cafe & pub for this fun event. Admission is free. And food and beverage vendor pricing ranges from $1 - 5. Entertainment by local artists starts at Noon. Participating area restaurants (besides Altitude and mallards, of course!) are El Burro Loco, Rendezvous Grill and Tap Room, Wraptitude and Sandy Brew Pub while participating distributors and brewers are Fearless Brewing Co, Point Blank Distributing, Mt. Hood Brewery, Portland Brewing, Pyramid Brewing and Hood River Distillers.

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10
Blackberry Jam and Dutch Oven Cook-off at Philip Foster Farm. Acoustic music festival with Oregon's folk musicians and Dutch Oven Cook-off.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 & FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
Nine and Wine Golf Event at The Resort at the Mountain. 9 golf holes with wine and appetizer pairings at three stations on The Courses. Contests, too! During dinner following play, prizes will be awarded. A chef's 'special' will be paired with a selected wine from the tastings. Wines will be available by the glass and bottle. Each event specializes in one type of wine allowing participants to experience differences within the category. Tee times from 3 – 6 PM. Cost is $100 per couple. Sandy Oktoberfest at St. Michael's Church. Autumn festival with Biergarten featuring German and popular music all night, Weingarten, Microgarten, Kindergarten, Cruisin' Car Show, Craft Vendors, Food Vendors. Friday: 5 - 10:30 PM, Saturday: 11 AM - 11 PM; Sunday: 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM
 
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
Winemaker's Dinner at Silcox Hut at Timberline Ski Area. Located high above Timberline Lodge near the Palmer Snowfield, Silcox Hut is a must-see unique location for this special evening. A 6-course dinner will be prepared by Executive Chef Jason Stoller Smith; each course expertly paired with wine from Cristom Vineyards' winemaker, Steve Doerner.
 

 
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19
Wild about Game at The Resort at the Mountain. This annual one-day event pairs some of the Pacific Northwest's best game chefs with game birds and meats. The Wild Game Cook-off and cooking demonstrations complement the culinary marketplace featuring ample food and wine tastings and cookbook signings by Bruce Aidells, Nancy Oakes, Vitaly Paley, Liz Crain and Cole Danehower. 11 AM - 4 PM. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
Cider Squeeze at Philip Foster Farm. Press your own cider or buy fresh-pressed cider. Crafters, vendors, living history exhibits, food and live music.
 

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18
Winemaker's Dinner at Silcox Hut at Timberline Ski Area. Located high above Timberline Lodge near the Palmer Snowfield, Silcox Hut is a must-see unique location for this special evening. A 6-course dinner will be prepared by Executive Chef Jason Stoller Smith; each course expertly paired with wine from Ponzi Vineyards' winemaker, Luisa Ponzi.
