Have had many trips to the mountain and have always loved the places we have stayed, but this place will be the only place we stay when it is our getaway for two!   This cabin is ideal for a secluded little getaway weekend. Beautiful view of the river. Only one stovetop burner worked, however, which would have been nice to know for meal planning and there were a few food-crusted dishes in the pantries and dishes left in the dishwasher when we got there. Other than these issues, we loved our stay and would highly recommend this cabin!

    We apologize that the cleaning was not up to par. That is certainly not our standard. When we checked the stovetop, all the burners were working. We think the knobs can be a bit tricky at times.

  We were looking for a secluded getaway not to far off the beaten path and this was it. Easy to get to the grocery store is 5 minutes away to resupply and rent a movie if desired. The view can't be beat and listening to the river while reading a book by the fire is what we did a lot of. The hot tub was secluded and easy to get to from the house although the deck got a little slippery. Last was the ready access to snowshoeing trails. We would definitely go back!!!

  As a single female traveler the River View cabin was ideal as it provided quiet, solitude and natural beauty while being on the beaten path. The location in a small neighborhood near the grocery store, gas station, fruit stand and great places to eat made it ideal. Mt. Hood Vacation renatl staff were exceptional and made everything easy.

  Loved this cabin! The sound and view of the river was incredible. FYI to future renters: furnishings are outdated and worn, could use additional lighting in the living room so if you're a reader bring your own lamps and extension cords, the display on the microwave only shows about half the numbers and should be replaced and the shower head should be replace. Blinds over the kitchen window would be nice for added privacy in the evening. Overall, this is an awesome cabin.

  The location of this cabin is amazing, sitting some 30 feet above the river and with spectacular views up and down. The hot tub and deck are a great place for relaxing after a long day hiking in the mountains and the place is amazingly peaceful for being so close to the main road (at the end of a cul-de-sac). It's very private and very restful and just what you need for your vacation in the mountains.
  
  The beds were fine for us and there is plenty of closet and storage space for clothes. The bathroom and kitchen are not completely "modern", but everything works and is clean - and you don't really go to a mountain cabin for 4-star hotel amenities! We arrived late and left early, so we had no contact with the property management, but everything about picking up the keys and the welcome pack and dropping them off afterwards went very smoothly.
  
  The trash recycling instructions are a bit confusing and it seems you need paper bags, which aren't provided unless I missed something, to put glass bottles in, separate from all other waste.

  This was our second visit to River View Cabin and it was as amazing as we remembered. Came up for my husband's most recent birthday and spent the days exploring the High Desert and Mt. Hood. Evenings we grilled steak in perfect privacy, then ate overlooking a 180 degree view of the Sandy River. Late night soaks in the hot tub were the perfect end to a great day. I still find it hard to believe that a property this convenient to Route 26 can be so quiet and private.

  Very lovely cabin! At the end of a cul de sac, so it is very private and quiet. Great view of the Sandy River below and we didn't miss that there isn't river access from the cabin.
  
  Restaurants, grocery stores and gas station are nearby. But if you think there is going to be a little town or "village" as it's called, you will be disappointed. Most businesses are strung out along Hwy 26, so you will have to drive. There doesn't seem to be a village per se--the biggest grouping of buildings we saw was like a business park.
  
  Management was friendly and informative. The only complaint I had though, was never addressed by them. The shower in the cabin is one of those fiberglass stalls and the floor is Very Slippery when wet. Both my husband and I slipped and were lucky to have caught ourselves. I reported this, twice, each time requesting a rubber mat. Never got one. So we bought non-skid shelf liner and made the shower safer. Not exactly aesthetic, but it worked.
  
  Regardless, we had a marvelous time in a beautiful area and hope to be back again. Next time, we'll bring our own mat.

  My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at River View Cabin! The rustic yet modern feel of the cabin was fun, and the river view was stunning. It's nice to relax while hearing the sound of the river. And the cabin is well situated for exploring the Mt Hood area. We visited in summer, and went on several hikes, in addition to visiting the amazing Timberline Lodge.

  Cabin overlooks sandy river and is very peaceful and calming. Minutes from hiking trails and restaurants. We saw more wildlife from the deck than we did on our 20 miles of hiking. We would definitely come back. The only thing I would change is the view is beautiful however the deck is very close to the cliff's edge which made me a little nervous.

  This cottage sits at the end of a road, giving you great privacy. Coupled with the view of the river (along with the rushing water sound), this is a great spot. Complete kitchen, two full-size bedrooms, this had everything we needed for our stay.
  
  Even better, we felt that Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals was one of the best outfits we have ever rented from. The thoroughness of the upfront information, the reminder e-mails with good directions, and the complete package of directions / map upon check-in are excellent. The check-in staff are friendly and helpful, available much of the daytime, and just run a tight ship. Highly recommended.

  we loved staying at this quaint cabin. we had a few small issues in the begining (internet would not connect and did not know how to operate the fireplace) but the management company took care of both issues in a timely matter.

  You can't be the location and layout of this house. It is right on the river, has great open windows, and a great hot tub. I would give 5 stars but the tv, cable, and internet connection are pretty dated, and I ended up paying some extra fees that are not apparent when you first sign up. But - everything else about the rental is so amazing, that it is still recommended.

  This is our third year at this rental property. We really like the view and the cabin. On this visit we both noticed the large couch really needs to be replaced. It is way less comfortable then it used to be. The king size bed also needs some updating. The bed is super comfortable, but it needs a better support situation.
  
  We love Mt Hood Rentals because it is the best vacation rental place we've dealt with. It's the easiest to rent and the easiest to depart. And the all the cabins are well taken care of.

  The cabin was very clean and the view was awesome. The staff from Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals were very cordial, however, I won't rent from them again because I feel that their rental policies were deceptive. When booking, I confirmed the cost of the cabin. When I received the contract to sign, there was an additional booking fee, an additional travel insurance fee, an additional damage insurance fee and then taxes. Without taxes, these fees alone raised the cost of the cabin 29%. When I called to voice my concern,they agreed to remove the travel insurance, but wouldn't remove the damage insurance unless we agreed to a $1500 deposit. We paid the damage insurance fee, yet one of the burners on the stove didn't work, the hot tub never reached the correct temperature and was dirty, and the wood stove was smokey and didn't draft well. On checking out, I gave the staff the list of what didn't work, yet Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals kept my damage insurance fee and didn't offer a refund. Since those items were broken, I don't think the customer should have to pay the damage fee.

    Hi-Thanks for your comments. The $30 Security Deposit Protection Fee is similar to insurance and is in lieu of a large refundable security deposit. It covers up to $1500 of unitentional accidental damage that is caused by a guest. Unfortunately, we cannot legally refund the 7% lodging taxes that are applicable in our area. As you discovered when reading the documentation that is sent to you, the trip insurance is optional. That is why we send our guests that information in writing, so that the policies are very clear. We service our hot tubs before every guest arrival, so there should not have been an issue with the hot tub prior to your use. However, if we do not receive a phone call during a guest visit, we are unable to remedy the situation. That is the same for the stove burner. We have not had any other complaints regarding the woodstove and we do maintain them regularly as well. We will keep an on it to see if the stovepipe needs cleaning.

  My husband and I love this cabin. It's the type of place you don't want to talk too much about because you want it all for yourself. The river view, the hot tub, the stars, the peace and quiet. It's really the perfect place to unplug and recharge your
  batteries. Our only "issue" is the bed in the master bedroom. While very comfortable for sleeping, it's propped up by some janky dowels that collapse while engaged in non-sleeping activities. Just thought those of you thinking about a romantic getaway should

    The log king bed frame has been reinforced with cross-braces and floor support. It is now very sturdy and would be difficult to move without four strong people.

  My girlfriend and I could not get enough of the cabin. The view of the river is amazing. The Hot tub was perfect for those few rainy days in early spring. The fire place made for a great atmosphere to sip on a beverage in the evening.
  It was only the two of us this time. But the cabin would be big enough for a family of 4-5. I would go back in a heartbeat if our schedules allow it.
  If you are looking for a great adventure with Mt. hood nearby this is a perfect base camp. If you are just looking for a relaxing weekend this cabin would work great as well.

  Only complaint that I have is that the website still notes that there is an outdoor fire pit. After a couple days of wondering where the fire pit is... the neighbor told me about the bank/cliff washing away during a flood. Just suggest that the website be updated for the next guest. Other than that - we had a great time!

  location and cabin lovely. Firewood a nice add as easy to access. Knifes need sharpening and all light bulbs should be checked as some are hard to acess to change. The refriderator door is not sealing properly without help and could cause a problem if you are not paying attention. All and all a wonderful place.

  The only thing that I would mention is that there is a dropoff in the backyard that plummets to the river. If you have little kids, make sure and caution them ahead of time.

  The cabin and surroundings surpased our expectations. The view is just beautiful and the sound of the river is very relaxing while soaking in the hot tub. Other posts mention the neighbor being able to see the hottub, but we didn't find it to be an issue. Lots of trees and brush between houses. There is a sharp dropoff to the river so you do have to watch kids closely. Would have been nice to have had a baking/cookie sheet in the kitchen, but a quick 5 minute trip to Thriftway took care of that. All in all a perfect first experience! Can't wait to come back!

  My husband and I found this cabin delightful and private with a lovely overlook on a small cliff over the Sandy River. The neighborhood was quiet although one can hear low key night traffic from Hwy 26 (which died about 10PM). The furnishings and beds were comfortable; we enjoyed the ability to have a wood fire in the black cast iron stove. We found the setting intimate and romantic. There is a lovely hot tub which we never had a chance to use due to our short stay. Also we would recommend a wonderful restaurant (The Rhondevous) in Welches.

  I want to thank you for helping me put together a perfect birthday for my husband. Originally I wanted to rent a different property. But one of your consultants (Cari) listened to my description of what I wanted and she suggested I check out River View Cabin. I ended up following her advice -- and it was wonderful! The cabin was perfect for a romantic weekend. Just the right size for one or two couples, and splendidly private despite being very close to Welches and the highway. We had breakfasts on the patio, with a 180-degree view of the Sandy River. In the evenings we had everything we needed to cook (and the grocery store was near, in case we found we'd forgotten anything). I had every utensil I could wish for -- even plastic cups, so that on my husband's birthday we could safely drink our champagne in the hot tub! And, speaking of the hot tub, I can't tell you how amazing it was to have one so perfectly private. The view of the mountain from the hot tub was gorgeous, too. Everything was neat, clean, and comfortable. At the end of the trip, my husband kissed me and said that this was the best birthday present I'd ever gotten him!

  The king bed was a little soft and the underframe made the bed too high and a little woobley. Also could have used some alum foil and saran wrap. Small leak in ceiling during rain storm over the overstuffed chair (noticed it cuz I was sitting there when the leak started).

  The only 'complaint' I would have is that it is said to be secluded but is in fact next to a few other houses, one in view of the hot tub. All in all though, it was a great place and we had a fantastic weekend there! The people were friendly and helpful, we would stay again there or perhaps another of the rentals.

  Nice location and very convenient to the resort where my conference was held. Was able to work at the kitchen table and look at the river. While the unit was very clean, it lacked the charm of other similar units I've rented in the past. The real drawback was the terrible smokey smell in the unit from a previous guest who must have had trouble with the fireplace. Every piece of clothing I brought reeked of smoke, and had to be laundered when I got home. One of the heaters also makes a really loud pinging noise which could bother a light sleeper.

  We loved the deck, hottub and view of the cabin. The kitchen needs updating - from the cracked tiles and mildewed grout to a stove with 2 broken burners, and only one pan with a matching lid. The bath needs an extra towel bar and a good scrubbing to get mildew off the ceiling/walls. Bedrooms and living room were very comfortable, with a great woodstove. I think we may have been spoiled by our last visit to a newer house.

  My only observation is that the River View Cabin is NOT secluded. There is a house right next to it, very close to the hot tub. My plan was to be in the hot tub naked and I did, but I wished not to have been concerned about neighbors.
  Some of the exterior lights were out, other than that I have no complaints.
  Beautiful fireplace, gorgeous view, confortable beds and furniture, well equipped kitchen and plenty of travel guide books.

  In general we were very happy with the place, but I do have a couple tips for the River View Cabin.
  
  The kitchen was very well stocked, so well stocked that there was not one open cupboard to put our food in. It would be nice to have one available. Also, a strainer would be good to have there. Otherwise there was more than enough there and we were very happy to see a coffee grinder, since we forgot ours.
  
  Also, some hand soap for the kitchen would be nice and some tissues in the living room and bedroom would be a nice touch.
  
  As you can tell these are very slight complaints. We loved our time there and would most definitely come back. We are sold on Mt Hood Rentals and will use you and recommend you often.

    We have re-arranged the cupboards, so now there is space for storing your food when you visit the next time. And a strainer was recently stocked in the home. We do leave hand soap and tissues in the bathroom.

  We recently stayed at this river cabin adn were impressed with the location. It was just off a main road but yet when at the cabin, very little road noise could be heard, only the sound of the river below. The view especailly from the rear deck was inspiring. What could be better but mountains surrounding the peaceful flowing water. The cabin was very clean and set up well. The furnishings were first class too. It was especially nice to be able to have internet access to get some work done. There is so much to do and see in the Mt. Hood area and we had a blast doing the loop. I would highly recommend this cabin to my friends.

  Just a couple of recommendations: Make a note on the website of the cabin that there is no river access. Didn't matter to us, but it might to people who have children and were counting on letting them play "creekside" while watching them from the deck. Directions to the nearest public creek access location would be great. Also, we were there during that record breaking heatwave your area had. The cabin has no AC. We used the fans and ceiling fan that were there, along with the breeze from the river so it was okay, but was extremely hot when coming home from being out during the day. We would definately stay there again - it was lovely!

  This cabin had a lot more amentities than other cabins that I've rented in the past (in other areas) including cable TV, WiFi, washer/dryer, and a telephone with long distance. I believe the site says that there wasn't cell service but I probably have the worst service out there and I had cell service the entire time we were there.
  
  The hot tub was exceptionally clean, management gave us plenty of towels, there's extra blankets, etc. in the closet which was nice and there was plenty of firewood available to us.
  
  We locked our key inside one day and panicked a little because we were 3 hours away from the cabin and knew the office closed at 5:00 p.m. but when I called, they left another in a mailbox for us to pick up at our convenience.
  
  The staff gave us ideas on what to do and were always friendly.
  
  Overall, our stay was great, the cabin was exceptional and the price (vs. a hotel room) was definitely well worth it!
  
  I hope we have an opportunity to visit again!

  This place is timeless. it has not changed a bit in the last three years. and I guess much longer then that. Very quiet street and great views. Hot tub is a Tiger spa and very nice but could be hotter, or at least would be nice to have that option. Big bed great but the other room could use a new bed. But after a hard day of snowboarding you could sleep anywhere. Living area open and very pleasant with a kicking wood stove. Overall a sweet little cabin.

  After the long hot summer in Arizona, River View cabin was just what we needed. The cabin was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept on. The view was amazing of the trees and river. Only down side was there is no access to the river but there are so many rivers and streams in the area that you can drive or walk to.   The only problem that we had was that the lighting over the driveway area was burned out, making it hard to see whenever we came back in from a night out for dinner. Since one of us was a senior citizen, it was difficult. The view was gorgeous! (And that's even though it rained almost the entire time we were there!) The cabin was in EXCELLENT condition, with a very thematic log cabin feel; log cabin bed frames, wood floors, decorations with country theme, woodstove, quilts... ADORABLE! Our stay was GREAT. Although we didn't use the hot tub, we desparately needed respite and had a great time reading, working puzzles and investigating the towns of Welches and Sandy, OR.
