  Prior to arriving at our cabin, I was briefed by management on how to operate and maintain the hot tub over the duration of the stay. Over the course of 1 weekend, the hot tub was utilized by 5 people according to the instructions exactly. In addition, we took special care to add the provided cleaning solution to the jet cycle per the written instructions. This is precisely why it came as a shock 2 days later when I received a tactless email stating that I was being charged $125 for "misuse of the hot tub". There was no evidence of misuse, I followed all of the verbal and written instructions exactly, and yet I was still charged. Be aware that random and baseless charges may appear on your card. Other than the erroneous bill, the cabin itself and its location were incredible.

  Our stay at Wy'East was excellent and super fun. The cabin overall was fantastic. It was beautiful and really liked the layout and there was plenty of room! My favorite part was that we were able to bring our Bernese Mountain Dog with us! :) The only area where I gave a lower score was the cleanliness. It seemed as if the blankets on the couch and in the master closet hadn't been washed for awhile and the clothes drawers in the master closet were filthy. Everything else was fantastic though! Would definitely like to stay there again for sure! :)

  We loved staying at this gorgeous home. The view of Mt. Hood is even better than pictured. The roadway in front of the home is perfect for walks and jogs. The waterfall hike 3 miles from the house is one of the best on the planet! The back yard is peaceful,
  quiet, shaded with trees and the glorious sound of the water is soothing to the soul. Our family loved the open kitchen, dining area and the big screen tv is perfect.We had a very memorable trip and loved every minute of it. The property is all it promises

  Beautiful quiet location. No internet or cellphone service, which makes for a nice retreat, if that's what you want. Local cafe with wifi is only 5 minutes away and Portland is a one-hour drive.
  
  My only two complaints were with the master bedroom: 1. the bed had been made with a dirty blanket and 2. the water pump for the outdoor jacuzzi comes on every night at 2:30 am and continues running for several hours--making it difficult to sleep if you are a light sleeper.
  
  Otherwise, our experience was great. The cabin kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and cooking utensils, pots, etc. The cabin can sleep 9 (including sofa beds) but felt spacious and just right for our family of 4. There is satellite TV, and plenty of movies, books and games to keep everyone entertained. The location feels wonderfully isolated when you are there, but is actually pretty close to stores, recreation. A great getaway.

  We have stayed in MOST of the houses for rent. we usually stay in Rapid River (it's the BEST) I was happy with the house in general very nice location the yard, views etc... what I was not happy with was the small things.. No Cookie sheets.. the LARGE tub was not working and the ICE machine has issues. these are things that are annoying and at 300+ a night you expect to work..

  We had a great stay at the Wy-East lodge, the windows looking out toward beautiful Mt. Hood view were awesome and the back yard property with the river was lovely. Very relaxing environment. We would definitely stay here again. A couple of things need to be cleaned, we found the place mats dirty and the pots, pans and cooking trays were not in the best of shape. Also, a clean sponge would be good. Other than that it was a great house.

  Only thing i was unsatisfied with was the lack of communication from staff regarding the Lolo Pass Road closure. I called shortly after the wash out to ask if the road would be passable and someone said it would by the time of my stay. When I arrived to check in I was then told about the inconvenient detour. The directions I was given were very unclear and vague. On a positive note I was able to check in early which I appreciated very much...

  This home could not be in a more perfect location. Brilliant views of Mt. Hood every morning through a wall of living room windows, and a hot tub surrounded by snow-covered trees with a view of Clear Creek in the evening. Only thing I would modify is the furniture - obviously this place is popular because the couches have been well-loved and are losing their cushion. :) Also, there is no cell reception or Internet access, so be prepared for a true escape! This is the second property I've stayed at with Mt Hood Vacation Rentals and I've been thrilled both times.

  From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we had a wonderful time! The lodge was spacious enough yet cozy enough for me, my wife and 2-year-old, my in-laws and their dog to spend the Christmas holiday. We would have had enough room for another couple as well. The vistas were gorgeous both front and back, and we were not far from either the mountains or the town of Sandy. The one day the power went out the generator powered everything we needed for cooking and indoor entertainment. The only downside is that the house is so far in the wilderness that there is no cellular coverage. I am looking forward to returning for either winter or summer.

  While the property was lovely, we had a power outage. the "automatic generator" was not so automatic. The generator came on right away, but there was no power to the house, we tried to fix it ourselves, but (unklike other properties we have rented from Mt Hood Vac Rentals) there was no book/binder on the property telling us what to do. The property manager did return our calls and try and walk us throug what we had already tried, then eventually had to send out a maintance man to fix it. All good so we thought, until the generator went out 5 hours later with a "low oil" light. We called again and decided to go get our own oil and see if we could fix it. The sun was setting on a Sunday night and I had steak and lobster to cook....
  
  We added oil and then the generator started smoking....we decided it best to turn if off. We were out of power for 12 hours....and dinner did not happen. Turns out the oil sensor light went out on the generator and the maintance people woke us up at the crack of dawn to fix it...another bummer. All might have been saved with a little compensation for our troubles....not sure if I will rent again.

  I have stayed at 4 different Mt Hood Vacation Rentals and all of them have been perfect for what I was looking for at the time. W'East was great because of the yard and stream for the granddaughter and our dog for running and playing. The big screen TV for the "guys" and the first week of football season. I loved the pantry for storing food for our meals, but mostly the view of Mt Hood out the front window, and that we had no neighbors. The horse shoe pit was a bonus too!!
  Cec and Kari in the rental office have always been very helpful and knowledgeable with whatever your needs or plans are.

  Our 2nd stay here for 5 days was again the best,never dissappointed the house was clean,with nice amenities thru out.Including the view.All the conviences of home and then some extras, towels for our pups and doggie treats too. Great location,and jump off point for hiking,site seeing as well sking and other fun activities.Privacy this is the one for us,our doggies love the big yard to play ball and get wet in the creek,we enjoyed the hot tub , becoming jello for the evening after those long hikes.The staff all very helpful and professional,we hope this property stays in the rental pool as we would like to stay here again.

  Booking was easy and the staff extremely helpful when it came to answering my questions. The property was lovely and the house and surroundings were just how it had been described on your web page. The only thing we were disappointed about was the fact that we could not adjust the temperature of the hot tub. It was 104 which was too hot for all of us and way to hot for our four year old who loves getting in a hut tub.

  We really love the seclusion of this property; this was our 3rd time staying here and will probably visit again in the future. The home was spotless and the property manager made the reservation process seamless. The clock in the breakfast nook had stopped but we didn't care what time it was, as we had nowhere to be. The only improvement I would make to this place is maybe think about new sofas in the future. They still look good but obviously get a lot of wear as are getting uncomfortable. Otherwise, great home on a great property, very secluded, quiet, and restful.

  The house is beautiful and is completely secluded, we loved this. And the river is so close with a nice backyard area. Plenty of space to park and move around cars. The open layout and large windows are great, as well as the open layout of the kitchen. It was nice to have a TV in a couple of the rooms and the large tub was great since I was sick when we arrived. A huge bonus that the hot tub is right outside the back door. And the pantry is an easy place to put away all of the food and other items we brought along. Overall we really enjoyed this house and our stay. Thanks! Also, I really like the repeat customer discount. It definitely guaranteed our return.

  We've spent many weekends at various Mt Hood Rental cabins before, but Wy' East Log Lodge has now become our favorite. From the direct view of Mt Hood, the layout of the cabin to the 2 acre property with the river in the backyard, this place has it all. A special thanks from our four-legged ones, Max & Jake. They loved running around chasing birds and relaxing in front of the gas fire place. We had a fantastic trip!

  It was so nice to stay in a place that is so close to all the recreation the area has to offer and still be so private.   We all had a great time at the Wy'East Log Lodge... it was very comfortable and the location couldn't have been more convenient. We hiked up to Romona Falls on Sat... the trail head was only a 2 mile drive from the home! We will be back.

  We really loved the house and its location. There were beautiful views from the front and the back. It was very large, roomy with beautiful interior and comfortable other than the fact that it didn’t have A/C. We loved the place but would not recommend going there during the summer unless they get A/C installed because the temperatures in the house exceeded 82+ degrees, so when we were there during the day it was pretty miserable. We actually had to go on drives and blast the A/C in the car just to get some relief. You could also go take a dive in the icy cold creek in the back to get some relief. Over all we would highly recommend this place for a winter stay and we are planning on making reservations during an upcoming winter.

    You visited during a 3 or 4 day heat wave. Normally the temps in summer do not exceed 80-85 so the Wy'East Log Lodge is comfortable, especially because it is at a higher elevation than many of the other homes. I think you would find the home to be comfortable most of the time during the summer. Betsy

  Our initial introduction to the property was a little unsettling since I walk into the home, went into the master bath and there was a snake next to the shower. My husband got the poop shovel and killed it but every time I went into the bath, I thought about the snake. A couple days later, as we went out the front door "mama snake" was sunning herself in the crawl vent and when she saw us immediately slithered under the house.
  
  I think someone needs to inspect/trap snakes in the crawl space...they can go inside through the plastic vent covers. Yeaks...
  
  Other than that, the home was fine. I wouldn't stay there in the winter since it has no "real" fireplace but it was great for the summer with the beautiful meadow back yard. We really did enjoy our stay even with the snakes.

  The reservation process and property manager was excellent and available the entire trip. We arrived to a freshly plowed driveway and a home that was clean, warm and lit. The property was large and private. There was a hill that our 2 kids could sled down which was really fun. The views of the creek and the yard out the windows were amazing. The snow was too deep near the rushing water of the creek (we stayed during some crazy blizzard weather) but the sight was really beautiful. We'll have to go back to explore around the creek area. We couldn't see Mt Hood from the house because of the overcast weather. We skied at several of the resorts in the area and took the kids tubing. The location was great for being near all of them and further down the mountain to avoid some of the inclement weather (although some days that meant rain instead of snow). We didn't use the hottub but did watch provided videos (there is a video store right down the street) and completed provided puzzles. The rooms were spacious and had lots of closet space. Everything was nicely maintained and the amenities (appliances, washer/dryer) were great. We did have to purchase basics of detergent and would have liked for more of this to have been provided as it is hard to only buy enough for a 4 day stay. No cell phone coverage or internet access without driving down the street. Free long distance was provided though, which helped immensely. It would have been nice to have had snowshoes or a sled provided. We purchased a sled and left it in the garage for others to use. Overally, a very pleasant holiday with 5 adults and 2 kids and we would happily stay at this property again in the future.

    Because of the mountains and trees, cell phone reception is spotty around the mountain. All of our homes have unlimited long distance to about 40 countries which helps alot. And because our community is small, high-speed Internet is not available everywhere either. However, Wave Broadband has announced that they will be offering high-speed Internet in Dec 08. Hopefully, that will happen, then more of the rentals will have that amenity. We provide a starter supply of laundry detergent and other supplies.
